I stayed a night in Purmamarca in this modern hotel. The room was fresh and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was superb. Staff were very helpful, specially as I did not speak Spanish. By far the best and most comfortable stay I experienced in my two weeks in Argentina.

Gem of a hotel

Sleeping in such small villages like Purmamarca is not easy without impacting environment. It feels like it’s possible when coming to this casa. They offer a spacious and comfortable room. The breakfast was a very nice buffet and staff was very welcoming. It’s easy to park a car. We loved the general atmosphere.

We loved it

My family and I absolutely loved this place! Right from the very first moment Laura and her staff went out of their ways to pamper us, to the point of letting us kill time until airport pick up time even after we had checked out!  
We were also amazed at Laury’s culinary skills: we were one of the first guests to enjoy dinner at the hotel at really convenient prices as well!
Absolutely highly recommendable place to enjoy some days of relaxation and adventure amidst breathtaking sceneries!

Best in Purmamarca!!

The staff were wonderful and very helpful.  The manager, Lauri, was exceptional.  I had a rental car that I drove from Salta to Purmamarca  - the next day the battery was dead.  I am so grateful to have had Lauri interface with the car rental agency because my Spanish is not good.  Her communication with the agency helped to sort out the situation and I was able to get the car issue resolved. It was a stressful experience and it was her help and kindness that relieved the anxiety I was feeling.  Thank you again Lauri for your help. In addition, I loved the hotel...very nice in a great location.

Fantastic, beautiful place.

We picked this hotel due to the high tripadvisor ranking. We were a group of 4 adults and booked the 4-people apartment that consists of two bedrooms, one bathroom, a dinning room, 2 satellite TVs, in-room wifi and a big terrace at front. I want to highlight the friendly and very helpful staff. Another remarkable points are the breakfast (included in the daily rate) and the breakast room, with its amazing view. Purmamarca and this hotel are a must when you are in the very northwest region of Argentina, Jujuy.

My hotel in Purmamarca

The most amazing place in the mountains north of Salta. After a long drive we arrived in Purmamarca & felt immediately at home welcomed by the lovely staff. Although they hardly speak English, we found an easy way to communicate. La Casa is decorated in vivid colors, with local artisanal tapestry, and the most spectacular views to the 7 color mountain from the room. 
La Casa is located perfectly in this small cosy town, off the local market with all the little shops and vendors. Two doors down is a good restaurant open for lunch and dinner where we enjoyed typical food from Argentina & Chile (whose boarder is just 150km+ away).
The breakfast was very good given the Argentinien standard. We stayed 2 nights and were greeted goodbye like friends.

Mountain Bliss

We stayed at Casa Del Abuelo in August 2023 after seeing some photos of it online & thought it looked nicely decorated & was in a good position in Purmamarca.

Initially we thought the hotel was closed as couldn't find it on any of the usual hotel sites like Booking.com, but then realised that a lot of hotels in the town are only bookable directly. So having found a number on their Facebook page, we messaged them via WhatsApp (the Translate option saving us!). The hotel came back to us quickly & we booked a room for 3 nights, payable on arrival (which is great as it means you can pay with cash using the blue dollar rate then).

On arrival, we loved our room which was colourful & nicely decorated with a separate seating area / kitchenette. We didn't use that personally but it was nice to have it there & a fridge to store drinks etc. There was also a little balcony / veranda that overlooked the town & surrounding mountains.

The staff only speak Spanish, but we got by with the little we know & Google Translate, so it wasn't really an issue.

Breakfast is included which is pretty basic, but usual for Argentina & included cereals, cakes etc.

Location-wise, the hotel is perfect as you can walk to the main plaza in a couple of minutes, which we enjoyed, seeing the locals selling their wares & there was also a religious festival on at the time with people playing music & marching through town to the church.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby too (El meson was particularly good & the place next door to the hotel was also very nice). One thing to note is they eat very late in Argentina (10pm onwards sometimes), so don't be surprised to turn up for dinner at 8pm to find places empty!.

The surrounding area is beautiful with the mountains & we used Purmamarca as a base to visit the salt flats, 14 coloured mountain etc (high altitude & a bumpy drive, but well worth it!).

All in all, a lovely stay & we really enjoyed our time in the area!
