Overall, it’s an average hostel. It’s appealing because of its price, which is the lowest around here around the high season. 
Kitchen is kinda dull; not a lot of place to make your food, but you have a few stoves. Rooms are roomy and sometimes heated, and have pretty large lockers in them. Wifi is very slow, don’t count on binging your favorite show on Netflix in bed.
But the biggest side downs are the curfew and the hostel manager. After EXACTLY midnight, everyone must be in their rooms. It also means you can’t go out and enter the hostel after 12. Had some flashbacks from boot-camp, but we managed. 
One day we came back around 11:30pm, and started making sandwiches for our ride the next morning. We were not fully aware of the rules at the time, so at around 11:55 the hostel manager noticed us and said we should wrap it up because these are the rules, or he would kick us out of the hostel. YES, kick us out. We weren’t really done but we respected his demand and by 11:59 we were already in the room, after we cleaned all of our dishes. But a few minutes later he stormed into the room and started yelling at me for leaving the cooking area dirty. I sweared we cleaned everything and asked him to discuss it outside because someone was sleeping, and for some reason he thought I cursed him and demanded we pack and leave right at the moment. I followed him back to the kitchen, begging. Apparently we forgot to put the oil and salt back to their places, that was all. He was talking in the most disrespectful way possible, cursing and yelling, while I begged he wouldn’t kick us out; I asked him where does he expect us to go, and he pretty much gave me the finger. 
After begging for a few minutes while I’m cleaning the whole kitchen, he let us stay. “Just clean and let everyone sleep”, he said.
I honestly have no idea how the situation escalated to this, and it was by far the most disgusting and disrespectful thing that ever happened to me in my almost 5 months backpacking, and I saw my friend getting robbed in daylight in Mexico.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a budget hostel with average facilities and pay 7-10$ less then everyone, it’s the place. Just do me a favor, try having no interaction whatsoever with that devilish manager, and read all the rules twice. 

Our unpleasant experience with the hostel

It s ok for a couple of days. It's cheap. But keep in mind that it's not so clean, that they are 50 beds so could be packed (kitchen or showers). Bed are ok but no lockers in the rooms. Staff is nice.

Ok price value 

firstly yes this is cheap place, but overall it needs an overhaul. the staff are well.....casual to say the least. i had a terrible nights sleep, the bed needed to be thrown out about 10 years ago. the place didn't smell pleasant at all, the bathrooms were functional and basic. obviously if you need a basic cheap place for 1 night at your going out to party and pass out, this is your place. but if you need anything else...go somewhere else.

not the first place you'd choose in Ushuaia

I stayed one night in this hostel and it was really incredible that they charged me 400 pesos for it. The room was ok, but everything else was a mess. There is almost nothing in the kitchen that works well, all the common rooms are really dark and dirty and the breakfast consists in a bad coffee. The toilets are pretty dirty on top. But what annoyed me most was that in the morning there was somebody sleeping in the kitchen and one of the staff members told me to be quiet so he could sleep. This is really a rip off! Dont stay there!!!

Quite disappointing

One of the worst hostels in Patagonia. Very disengaged staff, kitchen dirty and not equipped for simple dining or cooking. A dog running around the hostel. Big party (of staff and guests) at night way over midnight. No way there would be a breakfast included! 
Loud place, bunk beds very uncomfortable and squeaking with your every move.
There is no social area except for a dark kitchen corner with wobbly stools and fluorescent light. Blah!
Really not worth the saved penny. 

Big disappointment

This was one of the worst hostels I have stayed in around the world. The description and photos posted are not representative of the hostel in our experience. Yes, it's cheap, but not cheap enough that I would ever return or suggest anyone stay there who can afford anything else. If we had needed to be in Ushuaia any more than one night I would have left and pain for another room somewhere else. We came pretty close to leaving just for that one night. I have listed the major issues below.

Issue #1 - cleanliness The entire place felt like a public bathroom, we really didn't want to touch anything. The bathrooms themselves were disgusting. Only one of the three toilets in the men's bathroom was functioning, one had been used numerous times but could not be flushed, and the other was blocked off. There was blood on the floor and sinks when I went in to brush my teeth. My friend said when she went in to use the ladies bathroom there was a used tampon sitting in the middle of the floor. Also, one of the toilets in the ladies restroom could not be flushed but had been used a number of times. I tried to spend as little time in the bathroom as little as possible. The kitchen was dirty, leftover food sitting on tables, crumbs, and wrappers everywhere. Our sheets appeared clean thankfully (or we would have left right then).

Issue #2 - Our room looked nothing like the photos posted When we were finally able to get our room, it was an almost completely bare room with a single double bed, a small bedside table with a lamp that wouldn't stay plugged in (the outlet was unusable), and an overhead fluorescent light that took a few tries to get to come on. The door jamb had been broken sometime in the past and the only thing keeping the door shut was a small nail. Anyone could have walked into our room at any time just by pushing on the door with minimum force. I guess there is a good reason that most of the posted photos are not of the hostel.

Issue #3 - Noise There is no insulation in any wall in the place. From our room, which was at the ground level and back of the building, you could hear people in the kitchen, people in the rooms beside us, conversations and every footfall in the room above us, the dog(s) running around the whole place, and people phones dinging/vibrating wherever.

Issue #4 - Wifi/electricity The Wifi doesn't have very good range. I could not get it to work in the kitchen where we waited an hour for our room to be ready. It only worked in one corner of our room, so I had to stand in that one spot to use Wifi. This made things like checking in for flights or finalizing trip details much more difficult than it should have been. The outlets in our room also wouldn't hold a plug, so we couldn't charge anything. If I hadn't been carrying a backup battery I would have been unable to charge my phone.

Terrible, dirty, loud, and not worth it if there are any other options anywhere

The mattress in the room is comfortable. A goon bag would be a better pillow than the one you’re given. 

Aside from a comfortable sleep and warm rooms, it is hard to sleep due to the floor creaking so loudly all along the hall and in the rooms, despite people trying to be quiet. The rooms are very dirty as well as the lockers. 

The bathroom is segregated into women and men. 3 toilets in the men’s with 3 in the women’s. 1 toilet didn’t work and the other 2 were filthy along with the bins overflowed with crapper paper and stinking. Having to ask for paper to be replaced as none of the toilets had paper the following morning after checking in, due to never seeing the bathrooms cleaned properly. The bathrooms also didn’t have any hand soap, 50 people in the hostel are having to share dirty bathrooms and then are not able to wash their hands properly. My partner told me the first day she used the women’s toilet, that it was in the same state except their bins were filled with saturated dirty tampons and the following afternoon she used them, the bins hadn’t been emptied or their bathroom hadn’t been cleaned with the dirty tampons still there stale. One of the showers in the men was overflowed as the water wouldn’t go down the drain, sharing the water around your feet with the bloke who’d previously used the shower. The showers were also filthy. 

There’s two seperate kitchens one for vegetables and the other for meat which is handy for vegetarians/vegans etc. Everyone shares the same cookware defeating the object unfortunately. The kitchens are filthy, stove tops all dirty, areas surrounding cooking areas looking unhygienic. Stove tops don’t burn hot. All the kitchen utensils don’t work well. There’s a small oven the size of a microwave instead of a microwave to re heat your food which can be difficult if you have food that is best reheated in a simple microwave rather than in a pan/pot. The small oven is also very dirty. 

The staff are very friendly. I also didn’t clearly know who the staff were.
