Very obliging staff. The stay was without incident and the meals were exceptional, and cheap. The grounds were very well kept with plenty of greenery to add to the relaxed feel of the park.
Will certainly stay there again.

Relaxing and welcoming atmosphere

I had the opportunity to stop here tonight and I'm very impressed. Rooms are clean and have everything you need including great air conditioning, and a practical buffet style restaurant. Met the friendliest, most helpful chef/receptionist ever. Will definitely be back.

Great value, everything you need

Stayed overnight and the bedroom and bathroom were huge with a separate toilet! Spotlessly clean, huge comfortable couch and adequate towel rails and vanity bench space for a change. Negatives were the poor condition of some fixtures, no microwave, one of some things eg 1 wine glass, 1 butter knife, 1 steak knife - not set up for a couple (most likely would have been remedied if we had asked). But this was minor for the price and overall very satisfied with the stay and would stay again. 

Spacious, clean and comfortable 

They call it a caravan park but it’s not. It’s a miners camp. With only 6 van sites some with concrete slab ...ours was gravel. And jammed in like sardines...not even enough room to park the car next to the van . Amenities clean but very old .  The coal trains rumble past very half an hour day and night . Only good thing about the park was the miners dining hall ....good food and plenty of it . We were suppose to stay 3 nights but left after 2. We enjoyed a game of golf and dine at the club ... Thai food very nice but I would recommend stopping max 1 night or just stop to check out the Coal Mine Centre and move on if heading west go to Alpha ...great caravan park there . 

Where not to stay 

Overworked and underpaid staff. Management will laugh at you if you come to them with a problem. Locals advise Bedford Weir camping area is a better option, it's free, and you don't get treated like an idiot. Lots of time and money spent on nice gardens but lacks in every other department.

This is a mining camp not a caravan park. 
The gentleman at reception was very polite and helpful. 
Cost - $54 for a powered site. All sites were reverse in and we had to unhook due to the small area. We were only staying overnight hence we didn't want to unhook. 
Ablution block was very clean. 
Stay elsewhere as it is no longer designed for travelling caravaners.

In my opinion only, and after staying at around 15 Parks this holiday, we were greeted to Discovery Park, Blackwater.
The young receptionist was very helpful in organising our van positions within the Park. Our initial first shock was that prices had recently been increased and now one overnight stay was at $50.00, yes, $50.00 per van per night. The Park has 16 powered sites. Our given site was gravel with a cracked concrete pad, with a very small space for our vehicle IF we wanted to put our awning out.
My wife visited the ablution block and commented that was very sub standard where Parks at $35 per night had excellent clean ablution areas.
So at $50 per night, how disappointed we were left. Needless to say, we stayed only overnight. I dare not produce a picture of the van sites for fear of making the situation worse for the owners. Finally, I hope it is only in a desperation situation for anyone to stay at this Park.
The colourful information brochure we were given should be gold edged to add value to the $50.00 overnight charge.
Very disappointed totally.

A Caravan Park to give a big miss.

I preface this by saying that the staff were helpful and polite but apart from that I feel I must have entered an alternate reality to those who have rated this place at four.  It is without doubt the worst place I have ever stayed in.  What the site fails to tell you is that regardless of the street address the motel rooms back directly on to the Capricorn Highway and the railway line.  That way the travellor can enjoy the dual sounds of b doubles and coal trains, sometimes at the same time.  The room though clean was shaby circa nineteen fifties with no sound insulation of any kind.  Which leads to the next point that no mention is made that the motel appears to be part of workers accommodation for the nearby mine.  Thus when the men come of shift they want to wind down, relax, have a beer and socialize, loudly - they do so in the gathering place right outside the motel units. After approximately two hours of that the travellor gets the further enjoyment of listening to every word spoken on the television in the next room turned up to full volume presumably to be heard over the traffic. There is absolutely no chance of getting any sleep until the last person switches of the tv and you have the benefit of ear plugs.  In short we would have been better of simply pulling on the road and sleeping in the camper.
