Nice breakfast, reasonably priced.  Staff were awesome at accommodating our requests, made the best omelette off the menu and were happy to alter their menu for our fussy eaters.
Chocolate milkshake was divine, came with whipped cream.
Nice little playground for little ones outside.

Service was average - meal was nice pub feed - clean dining area - car parking around the back -  not suitable for toddlers as no play area - bar staff friendly when actually serve you - not my favourite pub in area.

Family Tea 

Their house beef burger. I just didn’t get egg and beetroot. Delicious 😋 $19. Went on Wednesday so was quiet. But the size of the burger was huge. Nice atmosphere. Good range of wines. But stock standard beer.

Midweek dinner

Wonderful staff and food. Chef made a vegan pasta dish for me that was not on the menu and said they can also cater for other dietary requirements. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Would happily recommend this restaurant to others.

Happily cater to different dietary requirements 

Perfect for my needs as a solo on a road trip. Friendly staff who offered to secure my bike before I even asked. Comfortable single bed in a small tidy room. Shared but individual bathrooms are spacious and clean. Included breakfast is simple and serve yourself in the kitchen. If all pubs were like this planning a trip would be easy and cheaper.

Overnight on a Motorcycle trip.

We were welcomed by the manager with a friendly smile and service. This grand old hotel has plenty of history and atmosphere that enabled us to enjoy the setting for what would be a delicious lunch. The servings were generous and enjoyable

Delicious lunch in grand old regional hotel

First time visit was their themed French Night a couple of weeks back and was so impressed with the quality of the food decided to duck back in for lunch.  The meals served were quality plus, I had the Veal Saltimbocca, Mrs Retiredwino the Greek Style Chicken, both meals excellent, large serves, cooked well, delivered hot, the chef is obviously a professional.  Finally found a pub in town with great atmosphere, good food and not noisy in the dining room.  Wow.... the Cessnock Hotel restaurant is a winner, can certainly recommend.  It will be one of our favorite places in town to eat.

My family from Lake Macquarie) had Sunday lunch today.  It was wonderful.  Best meal we can remember having.  We are already planning to go there again next month.  Big portions, cooked perfectly, staff friendly and polite, and a nice atmosphere.  I can thoroughly recommend this hotel for a great meal.

Fantastic Lunch

My second meal at Tinks, perfect both times. 

Having tried the beef cheeks (slow cooked for 14 hours, served with a carrot puree and potato rosti) last week, I organised 6 colleagues for the French Night starring the beef cheeks again (this time on a cauliflower puree). For me, the stand out was the prawn bisque. It's so hard to get a good seafood soup these days. 

A stunning five-course meal for $35. Thanks Chef! Also thanks to Natali and Emma for your great service.

As I live out of town, I stayed the night and was not disappointed.

I will certainly be back.

French Night

Located in town at the end of the main strip of Cessnock we enjoyed a lunch experience here. We did not experience the accommodation. Lunch was delicious and fresh. The hotel had options of indoor and outdoor dining and was spacious throughout. Upon becoming a bit cool outside moved inside where there was a fireplace burning for the additional heat.
The bar service was fantastic and enjoyed a nice alcoholic Ginger Beer on tap.
