We stayed here for 4 nights. The cottage was easy to find, being only a couple of minutes off the main highway heading into Denmark. The owner, Jason, came to check on us after we arrived (key in the door of the cottage) to let us know about the local sights and make sure we were settled in. He was very helpful and informative. 

The cottage was very spacious and the kitchen well equipped. We enjoyed using the gas cook top for cooking but would have liked the option of an electric kettle rather than having to use a stove top kettle.

There was plenty of room for us, the lounge chairs were very comfortable, as was the bed. The bathroom is combined with a laundry space - you have your own washing machine but no dryer. There is a clothes line on the side of the cottage as well as a clothes airer. The shower recess has a shower curtain. The water was hot with good pressure.

The heating is either via a wall heater in the lounge room, or a slow combustion wood burning fireplace. We were provided with an initial amount of firewood, with any additional wood costing $30. We found the fireplace warmed the cottage nicely but that the wall heater didn't warm up the place as much.

There were brochures provided as well as a CD player. There is no wi-fi and only free-to-air TV. A number of games, books, DVDs and CDs are available below the TV.

The location is perfect with access to wineries, beaches, the main township, and other tourist spots. The cottage is surrounded by bush which was great for bird-watching and for seeing the local kangaroos. Very peaceful and quiet.

The cottage is quite private but there was no cover on the window on the front door, which you pass going to and fro from the bathroom. Also, at night you need to lock the door with the key, which could present a safety issue. Perhaps a bolt could be added to lock the door instead. Minor things but something we noticed.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this accommodation.

Home away from home in nature

Zephir is a stylishly decorated, clean, well equipped 2 bedroom cottage.  It is in a natural bush setting with Kangaroos sunbaking on the rocky outcrop each day.  
We were very comfortable & would stay here again when we return to Denmark.

Another awesome trip to Denmark, staying at Denmark Forrest retreat is always great, lovely cabins, quite stress free environment kangaroos around, great local fishing 5 minutes from accommodation will be back for sure,

Great getaway

Always a great stay. I love the quiet ness yet the proximity to everyone and everything. It’s our home away from home when we visit. The owners are lovely people willing to do anything to make your stay a pleasant one.
I love the two bedrooms when the snoring of one’s partner gets a little rambunctious  to put up with. Two thumbs up well done.

A great base to explore Denmark 

We spent 4 nights at Denmark Forest Retreat and could not fault the accommodation. Right from the ease of booking (we booked direct) to communication, cleanliness, comfort. It had everything we needed or wanted. A lovely wood fire was very cosy on cold nights and days but also has a backup split system if preferred.
Will definately stay here again and highly recommend

Peaceful and private

We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful  place.  Four couples sharing … plenty of room to escape and read, or rest, sit outside enjoying  the Forrest view, watch TV or gather around  the dining huge table.  
The house  was spotlessly clean,  with every amenity you need plus a very well equipped kitchen.  
Inclusions …  a rice maker, slow cooker, cafe press, saucepans, platters, bowls and loads of quality glasses. Bedding was wonderfully comfortable with warm bedding.  Little extra touches like a torch , Tim Tams, tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, oil, hand wash and sanitizer, tablecloth and multiple kitchen utensils.  Large fridge/freezer plus a bar fridge in the laundry, washing machine, air con, wood fire great size TV and comfy couches. 
This place is a hidden treasure we would all highly recommend Denmark Forrest Retreat.  Melissa and Jadon were super hosts and very accommodating indeed.

Wonderful experience at Denmark forest retreat

We stayed in the Driftwood cottage in late Feb 2022. Our family of two small children were joined by their grand parents for the stay. Jason met us upon arrival and was very helpful with up-to-date information on the local attractions and businesses. 

Driftwood is a very spacious five bedroom house that it tastefully decorated and comes stocked with everything that you need for your stay. The property is very secluded yet is only a short drive from town. Everyone really enjoyed their stay at Driftwood.

My daughter left a toy behind, Jason and Melissa were kind enough to post it back to us.

Gorgeous bush block close to town, with well set up chalets that cater for everything you need. Would highly recommend booking out the whole place with friends as the kids loved riding their bikes between the houses. Very tranquil and we will definitely go again.
