We spent about 4weeks at this park we loved it friendly staff clean amenities water pressure the best,our site was nice and level well done to all the staff keep up the great work. We then came back for another week great place to base ourselves for sightseeing, not far into Launceston 

Great place to stay 

Great location, and very clean units.   Pity the attached IGA store is so run down, and fuel not available at their fuel pumps.    We stayed three nights, and would have extended our stay, but bookings had already been taken.    As is quite normal (and expected) at Discovery Parks, the grounds are clean and tidy, as is the laundry area.

we had another stay,this time in an ensuite site [very clean amenities] managers as always very wecoming  and again more improvements,the park is looking wonderful,solar lights give an extra touch to gardens. The herb garden has all new plants,great job you are doing dimity and liz and all the staff

Back after a few months,very impressed with the improvements the managers Dimity and Liz have done even to little touches around the herb garden,bbq areas have had a beautiful decorative upgrade and as always park is clean and tidy,keep up the good work

Caravan site

Of all cabins we have stayed in Tasmania, I have found Hadspen Discovery Park to be more convenient and with a friendly, family feel to it. There are no boomgates to access the site (I like this idea), staff will give you a map of the park and Wi-Fi password – Wi-Fi connection is fast too. The self-contained ‘Standard Cabin’ I booked was very spacious, comfortable and well laid out. The beds come with clean linen and towels, with complimentary mini bathroom accessories (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion). A complimentary coffee and tea starter kit is provided (including 300ml milk in the fridge). Offers one free marked car park space per cabin (right beside the cabin). An impressive, neat and clean park but what makes this park more convenient compared with the others I have stayed at, is that they have an IGA Supermarket and Fuel Station next door to Reception. This is great, as I had to find nearby supermarkets to stock up on our groceries, while at Hadspen Discovery Park, it only takes a two-minute walk to IGA – convenient… right? It has all your necessary amenities plus more! I asked staff at reception, what are the hours to use their laundry, to which she replied that it is opened 24/7 – terrific! As I have chosen ‘Day 5’ of our Tassie holiday to do our laundry at about 11pm. Both washing machines and dryer costs $4 per machine, the washing machine takes approximately 40 minutes and the dryer takes approximately 20 minutes to complete the cycle. They have ‘Guests Herb Garden’ beautifully laid out, that you may help yourself for meal requirements. Amongst the herbs, there were strawberries and a plethora of passionfruit growing. I did have a couple of strawberries, they were yum but unfortunately no passionfruit as the fruit was still green (we were there during late December 2019 / early January 2020). It was their ‘Guests Herb Garden’ that gave it the ‘friendly, family feel’ to this park – just like back at home, having your own herb garden growing. Not too far to drive to Launceston if you want to have take-out or better still, take advantage have take-out from the IGA store next door to Reception, they offer hot foods which is cooked on the premise as well, at a very fair price (I have attached their menu). Along the path on Winifred Jane Crescent, there is a ‘street library’ situated next to the noticeboard, for you to freely choose a book to your liking to take back and read for free – a nice community touch and incentive to read. The park is not too far from ‘South Esk River’ if you love to spend some time fishing. Or do what we did and visit ‘The Cataract Gorge’ and ‘Penny Royal’ as a family fun day out. I highly recommend this park if you’re looking for somewhere convenient, friendly and not too far from attractions when in Launceston.

Convenient, Friendly and Family Feel Accommodation

We were in a motor home and wanted to get a head start on our trip to Cradle Mountain as this was just out of town. We had a powered site so used the camp kitchen it was great, laundry facilities were good and the IGA so close was perfect. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great location

This was our first time staying in a cottage, and the staff were very friendly. Initially, we were assigned cottage 8, but after the first person took a shower, there was no more hot water. The second person had to finish their shower with extremely cold water. We called the staff for assistance, and they promptly arranged for us to move to spare cottage 3. We are thankful for their quick help. Everything else was good, though the WiFi connection was poor.

Warm Hospitality Despite WiFi Woes

Cabins are clean and comfortable. Heating is great in the loungeroom, however, the bedrooms aren't heated. Bathrooms are a little small but usable.

There are BBQ facilities available to use as well the kitchen facilities in the cabin. The price is very reasonable per night. 

Value for money

We just stayed at this quiet and family friendly little park as a base for our Launceston leg of our Tassie family holiday ! The park has a good camp kitchen with a laundry attached with 3 washing machines and dryers ! The camp kitchen also had a coffee machine ($3.00 for coffee/Capacinno ). There is also a very well stocked herb garden outside the camp kitchen and a small outside fire pit with wooden chairs to sit on around the fire ! The showers and toilets were great and well equipped ( 4 toilets and 4 showers in females ). However , I found the hot water tricky to control and found later in the stay that it is flow controlled ( needed to be at high flow for hot water to come through). There was also a games room which my two teenage kids enjoyed ! The park also has a small, very well stocked IGA right at the front gate, which was very much appreciated!!  The park is close to most attractions - about 1 hour to Ross and Beauty Point - with about a 15 minute trip to Launceston!! All in all a great stay with friendly, helpful staff at reception. 

Good Launceston base 

A reasonably priced place for what you get.  We stayed in a spa villa for two nights travelling with family (2 adults 1 child).
The good?  Located only a short drive from Launceston, relatively quiet and clean.  Nice and warm with the gas heater in main area.  Basic facilities all met with TV, dining table and kitchen with stovetop/oven, toaster, kettle, microwave and fridge/freezer.  Two small bedrooms with built in wardrobe space and electric blankets and extra bedding.  Basic kitchenware.
The not so good/need improving?  More cutlery would be great.  The water taps in the shower were very hard to get just right and kept vibrating when trying to hit the right spot.  A wall panel heater in the bedroom would also be great.  The games room was very tired and neglected.

However, overall this met our needs.  And as an added bonus, an IGA X-Press with hot food and good coffee, newsagent and bottle shop were directly next door (walking distance) and a great park located over the road with a little skate ramp track and playground.

Would we stay here again?  Yes, we would!  Next time we'll need to ask what the big inflatable bear head was about as well.
