So much of the Australian coastline has become so crowded that it is often difficult to find a place with some needed room to move, experience and breath, while still able to meet and mingle with locals. Harrington is just the place. 2 hours north of Newcastle and around 10k off the highway you come across a camping spot with plenty of room located behind a lagoon and beach combined with an expansive inland waterway of such beauty. This Discovery Park location captures the best of everything; great facilities, friendly and helpful staff, great and easy spots to set up with plenty of greenery and trees, water adventures for the kids, walking distance to a small array of shops and cafes on the very doorstep of the most beauty beaches, long well built break waters that let you walk for miles with water on both sides, of bird life and pelicans.

Perfect getaway

Always an excellent stop, whether for a few nights or a few weeks.  Clean and comfy cabins, a lovely pool, and close to the Crowdy Bay National Park and beaches.  Grounds well looked after and staff very helpful.  Lots of activities apart from swimming - mini golf, go carts, plus recently added fire pits for hire.

Best place to stay in Harrington

We stayed on Mon 13 May 2024, 1 night, Cabin. 
This Park location is great stop-over while cruising up the Central Coast towns. 
Superb location on the beach, walk along the breakwaters.
A bit out of town, but a few of the Bistros offer collect and drop-off shuttle, so all good!

we stated on an ensuite caravan site was great ensuite very clean and spacious  staff were lovely  reasonable price per night  sent us through storm warning on Saturday. might so we were prepared  great pool area and walk through to lagoon  would recommend staying there

perfect place to stay

We have just come back from a stay in one of there cabins. I was so happily surprise at how spotless the cabin was there cleaner had done a great job and the staff where so friendly. If you are going to stay in Harrington do your self a favor and stay here. I was happy as it was in walking distance form most everything.

Beautiful and super clean

what can i say , perfect for families , with , walking distance to fishing , parks and enjoyment at the park itself . has everything you need , bouncing balloon , which i found strange time they shut it , but later found it peaceful , 2 lovely pools , one with a slide the other for the smaller kids , BBQ which are kept clean , friendly staff , if i rate it , it be 10 out of 10 , wifi well that part was out due to Telstra which don't come as a surprise , kids games room close due to covid 19 , they made sure everything was great

totally enjoyable stay

Great campsite, our site was very quiet and the facilities had been updated, all looking fairly new and very clean. Convenient to breakwater and lagoon. Great swimming pool as well. Aprox 5km drive to Crowdy Head and the beach there. Easy cycling along the track to the “river trail”. Good fishing from the breakwater, though the fish are crafty and my catch got away.  We also got Telstra signal and could get onto the internet though they say the whole Harrington area has patchy reception.

Great older style caravan park

On arrival warm welcome from  staff.
Explained where to have dinner and that if required we could be picked up by courtesy bus.
Cabin was clean and well set out and very roomy. 
Due to wind and rain was unable to try any of activities at the resort. 
Fully recommend for a relaxing break

Road trip

Booked a few days r+r thru G/Day website. Great park, easy access to sites. Amenities clean and tidy, games room for kids to be entertained. Camp kitchen spotless and well equipped. Great pool area to cool off in. Some renovations being carried out but not impacting on our stay. Office staff friendly and accommodating. Will be back.


Seniors Break from Driving 

Went for a few days and we had a great time. The cabin was neat and tidy and clean enough and beds were comfy. We loved the waterpark, slide and pools and the jumping pillow was great too. Staff were friendly and helpful. Harrington itself is a cute little beachside town. Already planning to book again to come back next year.
