We are staying here for work, it’s nice accommodation, the restaurant is Chinese, the food is amazing, the restaurant is beautiful, I’m working my way through the menu, the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s an absolute gem in Middlemount, central Qld. The food is 10 out 10, will be back👍👍👍👍👍

Excellent Chinese Food

Some of the nicest Chinese food I have ever had the pleasure to devour. And the best service by Hannah the young waitress. So professional.
Do yourself a favor and go through the menu dish by dish. You will not be disappointed.

Dinner

We had a great stay at the Swag Motel, we were welcomed warmly and our room was excellent and had everything we needed. It was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable which led to a good nights sleep. We ate in the on site Restaurant and had a fantastic Chinese meal, the food was fantastic and very well priced, the service was  first class. Our hosts John and Martin were very friendly and attentive and ensured our stay was a happy and memorable one, thank you both for a great stay. I can highly recommend a stay at this Motel in the coal mining town of Middlemount where you will be treated very well and as we did really enjoy your stay.

Great Find

Visiting a relative who works in the town, she recommended this place and took my wife and I there for dinner. One of the best 'Asian' meals I have had in a long time. Friendly courteous service. The wine I requested for dinner was unavailable. So a staff member went out and got it ! While in the town we discovered that Middlemount is quite an attractive place for a mining town BUT perhaps is one of the most unwelcoming towns for any kind of tourist, especially caravaners, (the owning mining company shut down and scraped off the caravan park a few years ago) that we have come accross in our so far 11 000km journey around this country. The owner of this establishment went out of his way to be as helpful as he could and provided useful information. Thankyou for a great dining experience.

Fantastic Food

Very very nice little motel in the mining town of middlemount. Rooms are very clean and big enough for the travelling business person or couple. I’d say the only let down would be no wifi or Foxtel. 
On a high note the food from the attached Asian restaurant is exceptionally good and well priced. 
For the price overall I would highly recommend the Swag Motel.

Great overall

Have stayed there now on a number of occasions and you are always greeted very warmly by Martin at the front desk, and always given a nice cold bottle of water to drink.
Rooms are okay but very basic. Cleanliness is a bit hit and miss with some rooms really good, and others not so good. The Motel is in need of a spruce up but all in all it is okay.
The restaurant has excellent Asian / Chinese fair -  very tasty and great service as well. 

Okay for a mining town !

Arrived late, had issues with Trip.com saying they could cancel the booking as I wasn't going to arrive in time.

Bed was not made up on arrival, had to put the sheet on and then get the blanket out of the cupboard.  

Overall kind of disappointing experience.

Disappointing

I'm a FIFO worker, who popped in for a change from camp food.  The staff were friendly, and the restaurant is exceptionally clean.  However, the food could use significant improvement.  I ordered the salt n pepper pork, which was essentially a cut up pork chop fried to a crisp.   The spring rolls came out burnt, and the special fried rice had prawn tails in it, but no prawns!  I began to wonder if they were from another guest's meal.  A staff member asked me how the meal was, and I was honest in my review.  His reply was "oh."  Fingers crossed that the business imrpoves.  

Dissapointing Food

0/10 Stars - Dont TRUST THE PHOTOS. Wow, What an experience. Room was dirty.Toilet and shower room was disgusting and couldnt be used. Manager was the rudest person ever. DONT STAY HERE. UNLESS YOU ARE DESPERATE. 
A SAD PLACE. WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE IT....
