From the moment you drive up the drive of this property you know you’re in a special place. The kangaroos welcome you at dawn and dusk. Pat is a most welcoming host. 

This house sits on the hill with spectacular views over the Valley. If you want a great nights sleep this is your place. The small gestures do not go unnoticed. Fresh cut roses in the bedroom. Fridge full of goodies to get your stay started. Cheese, bickies wine, chocolates fruit, chips. So generous!! 

Breakfast cereals and pastries are delivered daily in the morning with a paper. If you take dinner and use the kitchen facilities you literally do not need to leave. 

Grab some Indian curries from the general store in town and your set up for a great weekend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our escape.

Internet connection was limited. Which was fine for us. 
TV in room is small but that was not what we were there for, enjoy the surroundings! 

 

Old world charm - 

It’s a big, old house with about 4-5 beautiful rooms. If you are looking for peace and quiet in an incredible heritage home - this is your place. 

There is a stunning lounge area with a fireplace, a huge kitchen area with fridge and piano! You can bring your meats to cook a bbq too out on the deck. 

In your room, is a very small television (so bring your downloaded Netflix shows as there’s no wifi). A kettle, small fridge with milk that is complimentary, mini oven and hairdryer, shampoos are provided. 

About a 8 minute drive to kangaroo valley shops/pub, it is perfect to get fresh air and serenity.

Charming place with great view from balcony. Very friendly and helpful host. For breakfast fresh bread with newspaper are waiting for you in fron of your room. If you are lucky you can meet kangaroo and wombatala ❤️

Charming place

I decided to stay overnight in Kangaroo Valley at the very last minute and booked a room at Wombatalla at about 6:00pm, for that night. Pat and his wife were so welcoming and very helpful, offering to bring breakfast over in the morning. (In addition to the fruit and cereal in the room).
I had the place to myself and was very comfortable in the common sitting room watching television. 
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wombatalla to friends - it is a very beautiful location not too far from the main street in Kangaroo Valley.

A gem of a place!

Approximately 10 minutes drive from Kangaroo Valley we booked for a peaceful break. On arrival drove up driveway to find Kangaroos grazing on front lawns and ducks round the pond. Very friendly welcome from Pat the owner and whole house furnished in keeping with it's style (warm and traditional colonial). All of ground floor available for guests with lounge/library kitchen etc and upstairs 4 en suite rooms with large balconies overlooking front of house (and the kangaroos and distant mountains) Room had fridge with complementary cheese ham, wine, drinks etc as well as biscuits, cereals and tea/coffee making. Basket outside room each morning with paper and fresh  croissants and danish pastries from local baker delivered by Pat.
Room very well decorated in keeping with house and large very comfortable bed. Sat on balcony at night with citronella candle supplied enjoying twilight and night and again breakfasting in morning. Other nice touches included panadol and free fruit. A place to go and recharge batteries and feel really with nature whilst still being very comfortable. Great value especially with all the added 'freebies' from Pat. Book it don't overlook it .

Colonial Style House in Superb Rural Location

Whilst not located conveniently this also means almost no passing traffic and seclusion.

The welcome was warm and genuine.

The room was large and had a well stocked refrigerator with complimentary wine, beer and food. 

This place is a gem adn I would/will certainly return.

Stunningly quiet and just sensational.

Welcomed by Pat as soon as we arrived and it felt cozy straight away. A tranquil setting, close enough to town but far enough away too. A comfortable bed and excellent shower made for great value for money. The complimentary mini bar and pastries were a very welcomed bonus. Would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We came for a festival and the room here ended up being the highlight 

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely weekend at Wombatalla. Pat (the owner) left a basket of fresh pastries and the daily paper outside our bedroom door each morning, and the room is well-equipped with generous provisions in the fridge.  I couldn't disagree more with those people who commented that the place is in need of a face-lift.  This is a quaint, original home and it's precisely its old world charm which makes it so comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable to stay at.  I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a charming weekend away and has good taste.

The ideal weekend away

The building is a lovely old period piece with furnishings to match. I loved my room. It was spacious, with a high ceiling, and had a balcony with a delightful view. Everything was spotless, and the food and drink were generous. The owner was welcoming. At 78 and alone though, I found up and down the stairs difficult with my luggage. It seems all the rooms are on the upper level.

Our room was a good size, furnished in an older style with a large balcony overlooking the lovely grounds.   Viewing of kangaroo and wombats was easy as they are everywhere. 
The inclusion of a selection of complimentary minibar items including a bottle of wine was great.
