Stayed for three nights in Room 6 - beautifully furnished, views of the water and a comfortable bed. Rooms are small (bit hard with two big suitcases)  but nicely appointed. Had breakfast in the lovely communal guest dining area and veranda. Ate in the restaurant downstairs on two nights - really enjoyed the food, the staff were friendly and attentive and the prawn cocktail was very good. Lots to do in an amazing part of Sydney - the walk to the lighthouse was a good start to each day and there is so much to explore by car or ferry -  loved our stay! 

A lovely relaxing break

A warm hospitable welcome greeted us for our four night stay in room 6. 
The staff - all excellent and friendly throughout. 
The venue - harmonious decor, cosy comforts, marvellously memorable flavours, awesome optics and upticks.
Overall - it’s the contrasts that make you appreciate the contrasts - the Barrenjoey House team delivered us an experience that was: a focussed, cohesive, seamless synergy of synchronistic superior service symmetry.

A brilliantly Earthy Hospitality Pearl

We stayed 2 nights in room 1 which is small but beautifully decorated, spotless and all the furnishings and extras are high quality. We were with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the lounge and veranda for social time together over coffee and wine. We also ate lunch on the veranda. 
The staff are extraordinary- nothing is too much trouble. 
Will return again as we loved the place and the people. 
It’s an easy walk up the hill and over to the surf beach. Lots to explore close by.

Divine

We stayed for 2 nights in room 6 and, although the room was small, it was beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Everything in the room was top quality and it was immaculately clean. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. We stayed there to have a celebratory lunch for my husbands 70th birthday so friends stayed one night too. The guest lounge and courtyard were so lovely and a great place for us all to meet and chat. The group lunch we had in the restaurant was perfect. A very special place to stay.

Elegant and relaxing stay

The food, atmosphere, scenery was Devine. 
The service absolutely the best if have had in a restaurant for many years, polite, respectful and quick. 
It’s a bit of a hike but well worth the trip. We will be back.

Since reopening last year Barrenjoey House has become our go to restaurant for a casual long lunch. Relaxed and informal with a touch of casual class. Great food and wine..top tip try the watermelon salad!! We’ll return often.

Our favourite local restaurant 

Although Palm Beach is a bit of a trip north of Sydney it is well worth making the effort.  We went on the B-line bus to Mona Vale and then the local bus which goes to the door of Barrenjoey House.  We were warmly welcomed, the rooms are recently renovated and really nicely done, and there is a private lounge area for guests.  The ferry wharf is across the road and an excursion on Pittwater is well worthwhile. The boathouse restaurant is a short walk away and a hike up Barrenjoey to the lighthouse is strenuous (take water) but well worthwhile.  The surf beach is a good walk or a short drive to the other side of the peninsula.

Pamper Yourself at Palm Beach

Location - sensational.  Food - fresh, generous servings.  Staff - fantastic, warm, welcoming, service fabulous without being too attentive, an all round winner.
Shared lobster flatbread, bowl of the best chips, 2 interesting salads, Kingfish ceviche and Murray cod between 3.  No room for dessert, great coffee to finish off.

SIMPLY THE BEST

Unfortunately, we were in the smallest room at Barrenjoey House and, if staying again, would book another room.  In saying this, it's a wonderful establishment with lovely rooms, very friendly and helpful staff and such a beautiful environment for the guests with a guest's lounge and guest's terrace which we used often.  We wouldn't hesitate to stay at Barrenjoey House again but, next time, a different room choice.

Beautiful Barrenjoey House

Nice spot for an overnight stay. The room and bathroom are big enough with everything you'd need, including a good tv and mini bar. As the rooms are above the restaurant, there is a bit of noise at night when they're packing up the outdoor chairs but it doesn't last long. Staff are friendly and helpful, there's extra touches including free fruit and an area to eat upstairs for guests. The food for dinner is delicious!
