I have stayed in Melbourne a number of times, but this is the first time I have stayed on the South bank.  Following my recent 4 night stay, I doubt that I will ever stay in the CBD end again.  The South bank apartments are located right near the Crown casino and a very short walk to a number of great restaurants and bars.  The apartment is very comfortable, clean and has great amenities.  There are three convenience stores and a bottle shop nearby and a Woolworths (Metro) is a 5 minute walk away.  I highly recommend this apartment and will definitely stay here again.

Getting the key from across the road during the day is no problem, though at night or before 7am I m not sure what happens, and same regarding dropping  off of keys. 
Location is excellent,  close to Southbank bars, restaurants and shops, the CBD is not too far away and I walked easily to the tennis and the MCG ( 25mins approx). We asked for a high floor but would not pay 15 dollars a night extra for it . However they still gave us a room on floor 33, so thank you. We were at the back so only saw the city, I do not know if there are rooms with a view of the river and the north bank.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable, no issues with worn carpets or noise, as other reports mention. And very spacious.  I would say the TV in the bedroom did nt work , and the blinds in the lounge would not close. The TV also does not have premium sports channels. Not major issues. Also , we ran out of tea and coffee after 4 or 5 days. There is no housekeeping and I think  we could have rang to request some but it was easier just to eat/drink out,   so again not really an issue.
The pool is a little small but I don't use them anyway. A safe in the place would have been nice too.
All in all ,  reasonable value for money and I might consider using the place again if I can get the same deal.

Good stay

The apartments themselves are very good, well equipped , functional . Conveniently, there is a small supermarket directly underneath . The location would be good if you were heading to the casino . It is pretty inconvenient for anywhere else though, especially if you are elderly or disabled . For the fit and healthy, it’s handy for Southbank, but public transport is a bit tricky in this area for those who aren’t . A slight drawback is that check in / out is over the busy City Rd, so you have to drag your luggage around for a bit .  

Good facilities , bleak area 

We stayed at the City tempo for 4 nights during the Australian Open. The 2 bedroom apartment was spacious, clean, and had all we needed to make our 4 night  stay comfortable. 
Having a laundry helped when packing light. 
It was within 1.5 km walking distance to the Australian Open via the restaurants and bars on Southbank....so we could pick our dining out experience as we walked passed the different venues. 
Well priced for the convenience and comfort.

We have stayed on Southbank before and chose Southbank One for its location. We paid a premium for a higher level floor, which was an interesting concept.
The room was functional and gave us all we needed. The choice of a light carpet was a mistake as stains are obvious. Wifi was slow and the instructions not clear enough to make it an easy process to log on.
Would stay here again, but would also look at other options.

Good location, did what we needed it to.

Lovely apartment to stay in. Few marks on the carpet but otherwise very clean and the views were some of the best I have been from the 34th floor. I would stay here again without hesitation. My only issue was that I asked for a high floor if one was available. This is the only place I have heard of to charge a 'high floor surcharge' of $15 per night. After seeing the views I would pay to have the same room again, however I booked through hotels.com and I can not see this fee stated in any of the print so it was a bit of a surprise to hear I had to pay another $30 for my two nights. Other than this, I was pleased with my stay and will stay again no doubt.

Great location and price. Except a high floor charge?

The two, two bedroom, apartments were clean and well appointed. Appliances and facilities were in good condition. Beds and furnishings were comfortable.
The apartment I stayed in unfortunately had a tricky hot water system.  This is only an inconvenience for an adult but people travelling with children should we wary with the likelihood of scalding. (It took quite some adjusting to get the temperature down).
Overall a comfortable stay in a convenient location - eateries and shops in close proximity (a small convenience store next door). 

Comfortable stay

This is a fine place but do not expect too much.  

First off when we checked in they had my daughter's name (9 years old) as the person renting for the week.  It took some time to get them to understand that I was the person responsible for the room.  Then we realized, after unloading all of our luggage, that the actual apartment was a block away across the street, not where we checked in.

We were upgraded to a 3 bedroom, which we did not need but that was fine, after we were told they may have to charge us for the 3 bedroom if they think we requested the upgrade, which we did not.  Finally we got that straight.

After getting to the apartment, we were greeted by horribly stained carpet.  It made us feel dirty the entire time.  The kitchen was fine as were the bathrooms.  We did not use the balcony (it was small and besides it was cold for most of our stay).  The beds were fine, not super comfortable but not horrible.

There was a grocery store next to the apartment that made it quite convenient and just a short 15 minute walk to the conference center.  The pool was warm and clean, good for swimming laps.  We did not use the gym but it seemed well equipped.

Needs carpet changed and thorough cleaning

Have been staying in different locations of the Melbourne short stay apartments. First time here. Check-in was a breeze, and was pleasantly surprised that I can go straight into my apartment, despite being way before check-in time. Means a lot to someone was just came on a red eye flight. Thank you!
Location is very near to the casino, as well as the skybus pick up to the airport.  There's a small supermaket just next to apartment entrance. A 5min walk will bring you to a whole row of restaurants.  To Flinders street is only an 11 min walk. Or you could take tram 58 to the cbd,  but it's out of the free tram zone.  Tram 58 also brings you to QVM as well as the zoo.
Apartment is decent. Clean and neat with a kitchen, washing machine and dryer. Wi-Fi is good too.
Only compliant was the bed, a little too soft for my liking, because it sinks in the middle.

value for money

Stayed here for 6 nights. The location is great for getting around. It’s a short walk to Flinders Street station and the MCG and there’s plenty to do on the south bank of the river. 
However, unhelpful staff, a lack of basic items in the apartment, no water pressure for a shower and (worst of all) walls as thin as paper, so you could hear everything. 
Very underwhelming indeed. 
Will certainly not return.
