Karin, the owner, is friendly and welcoming. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. We also had a large balcony with table and chairs.Karin arranged summer cards for us that enabled free transport on local buses and the cable car, as well as to numerous attractions in the area. Breakfast was rolls/bread, various cheeses and meats, yogurt, orange juice, and the best coffee we had in Austria. There are several restaurants nearby and a large supermarket. We travelled on public transport and the bus stop is very close to Haus Margit.

Friendly welcome and comfortable stay, easily accessed by public transport

A great place to stay close to the ski jumps and stadium. A 100m walk takes you to world-class ski tracks. 
My room was very warm and spacious with a balcony and stunning view to the Dachstein.
There are several downhill ski lifts close-by with easy runs.
Buses stop near-by and so Schladming and other ski areas can be accessed.
Haus Margit has a ski room complete with wax table.
Breakfasts are traditional Austrian with rolls, cheese, meat, and coffee.

Excellent accommoration close to cross-country skiing.

This is the second time we stayed at Haus Margit and won't be the last. Karin the owner is warm friendly and welcoming. She has a great sense of humour and wit and her English is flawless. She is very accomodating and makes sure her guests are well taken care of. The Haus is well placed in the town centre near the Ski stadium, the ski jump (if you dare) and walking distance to two ski shops, the Spar super market and several restaurants and hotels with restaurants. If you are there to ski the cross country tracks start from right are accross the street. The down hill pistes are a short drive/bus ride away and the bus to the bialthon range, roller ski tracks and up to the Glacier stops just nearby. There is also on site parking. The rooms are large, big beds, plenty of storage, flat screen TV with a channel that show live webcam conditions on all the pistes and the glacier. We have stayed here both in the summer and in the winter. In the summer there is a lovly big balcony to sit out on and relax after a long day hiking or skiing. In the winter the rooms are warm and cosy. But it is the hostess that makes it such a special place.

Home from Home

We spent 6 nights (and some days) in this B&B. The house is situated at the centre of the village along the main street, some 200 meters from the cross country sky arena and the swimming pool. (This proved useful because one day severe weather conditions prevented us from going out to the ski tracks). Bus stop, restaurants and ski renting is close by. The sound insulation is perfect, you can hear nothing of the nearby traffic. 
The room was not too large but enough for two. Big wardrobe and a commode with drawers provided sufficient place to arrange our stuff. The heating was excellent, so was the hot water in the shower. The first 4 days of our stay there was quite a windy weather and a lot of snow but thanks to the good insulation of the house the room was cosy and warm. What I personally disliked was the mattress that was too soft for me (though my wife did not complain about it). 
The breakfast was nice, fresh warm rolls, ham, cheese and delicious pastry that was made fresh every day by our host, frau Karin. She is very good at baking pastry.
Karin is a friendly and fair host. We enjoyed our stay there.
Just one word of caution for those with cat allergy: ther is a cute cat in the house.
