This is a small quiet hotel with some of the best staff I have every met.  It stands in the very quiet village of St Martin bei Lofer and has rooms which are far above its 3* status.  The ski bus stops outside the hotel and runs every 30 mins to the nearby ski resort of Lofer.  It has the usual sauna etc and a play room for the children along with a range of rooms to eat your meals in.  We went during the "all inclusive" offer period and was amazed at the value of this offer.  H/B, apres ski snacks, free beer/wine/soft drinks until 10pm, all served at the table whenever you had an empty glass.  We never had to wait for a drink appearing.  The room we had was in the new extension on the 3rd floor which was served by a brand new lift and it was simply enormous.  Could not fault the room in any way.  Good wi-fi connection anywhere in the hotel, flatscreen TV and plenty of space to spread out.  All of the staff, from the management (it is a family owned hotel) downwards cannot be faulted and were funny, amusing and could not do enough for us.  The food was on a main course choice basis but they would adapt the choices to meet different dietary needs - I don't eat cheese so alternatives were offered on each occasion a main course contained cheese.  The home produced soups were simply brilliant (and seconds were readily available).  I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone who is not interested in nightclubbing the night away

Superb value hotel

Stayed for the third time in Ferienhotel Martinerhof. This time in a family room on the first floor. The room was nice clean. Ordinary beds for 3 persons and a sofa-bed for 1 child. Beds was a little bit too hard for us (not so heavy) adults. We had balcony to the street side. Toilet and bath ok but an extra shelf for toiletries will be good. WIFI has really been improved since we visited the hotel last year. We had no problem using WIFI in the room, in the restaurant or bar area. This is nice with two children addicted to be online. 😊

Friendly and welcoming host couple and the hotel is lovely in Austrian style. Ski bus just outside the hotel, first stop, so you will always get a seat.

Dinner in the evening is very good with soup, salad, 2 different meals and dessert. All from buffet. In the afternoon (16-17) a small meal is served, it could be soup, cake or a dessert. Breakfast is continental (and scramble eggs). It is possible to make a lunch basket in the morning. Drinks all day, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, beer, wine and soft drinks. Other drinks will be charged. You have the same table for every meal, this is super and good organized.

A wish for the next time… It would be perfect if the breakfast could start at 7.00 instead of 7.30. The first ski bus goes at 8.00, so you only have 20-25 minutes to eat your breakfast, brush your teeth and be ready to leave the hotel at 7.55. We love the slopes in the morning, so we would really like to be ready when the lift opens in Lofer at 8.30. Off course we could take the car, but if we want to enjoy a drink on the slopes, it is perfect with the ski bus.

Otherwise it is a nice hotel and we would love to come again. 😊



Nice stay in Martinerhof!

Stayed for the second time in Ferienhotel Martinerhof. First during the summer a couple years ago and now for our winter holidays over Christmas. The hotel is located just outside Lofer, but still with easy access to the Almenwelt Lofer, if you are here for skiing. The ski bus stop is just outside the hotel and takes you to Lofer in 17 minutes. On the way back it only takes 12 minutes. The staff and owners are very friendly, the hotel is clean and charming in typically Austrian style. We had booked a Salzburg plus room – one of the renovated rooms on the 3rd floor. The room was very nice and spacious with a big balcony. The kids slept in a bunk bed. The room had floor heating and nice warm water in the bath. The bathroom door was in frosted glass (and without lock). It looked nice, but maybe not so practical if you had to go to the bathroom while the others were sleeping, then there was light in the whole room. WIFI was really unstable, which our children were not so happy about… If you stay here in the summertime a fridge in the room would be nice. It is an all-inclusive hotel with normal soft drinks, beer, table wine + tea and coffee. Other drinks, liquor etc. is not included. For us it was enough and the wine was good as well. Breakfast is continental and simple, bread rolls was very good. At breakfast it is possible to make a lunch box (no drinks). Dinner is with soup, salat and buffet with two different meals. The food is very tasty and we enjoyed eating here every day. We were assigned the same table for every meal which is very comfortable. In the afternoon a small meal was served, it could be cake, rice porridge, soup etc.
We had a great stay here and would for sure chose this hotel again.
Tip: Book a ski closet in Almenwelt Lofer, so you don't have to drag your skis back and forth. Gave approx. EUR 48 for 5-6 days. (Closet with space for ski gear for two adult and two children).
