Do not hesitate, this pousada with its very sweet Italian owner and wife is at the beach and makes you relax at the very moment you arrive, only by the noise of the sea. And wonderful breakfast with Italian coffee and plenty of fruits.

Lovely pousada

Literally on the beach, that is where Casa ImBale is, than Mr. Corrado and his wife will make you feel at home, no breakfast schedule, personalized and fresh breakfast, at the beach, quite environment, no noises, only the sound of the sea, I usually say that there is only to types of places to surprise you, top notch resorts, like 5 stars, or the rustic unthought off places, a place lost in time with a family like environment, I have loved it.

Family like at the beach

PROS:

1. Casa ImBale is located on top of a dune, incredible, partially facing the sea, there is a beach hut between the hotel and the beach, but other than that, you leave the hotel and you are already on the beach.

2. Corrado, the owner, is attentive and the entire staff is very friendly (even though there was a small communication noise on my arrival).

3. The breakfast is full of fruits, natural juice and it is still possible to order eggs (if you also had the possibility to order tapioca, it would be even better).

CONS:

1. Upon our arrival, Michela, who received us, seemed a little confused because we were a gay couple. Even though our room was ready and she had already identified our reservation, she called the owner to make sure that the room was really for us.

2. Another thing is that the chalet we stayed in is half a chalet, the other half was taken by another couple (with a child), and the wall, made of wood, let all the sound pass from one room to another, which severely damaged our privacy and our sleep, since any noise in the other half of the chalet was as if it were in our own accommodation.

3. The view from our chalet, which by the pictures is beautiful, really half was for an incredible place, but the other half was for the service area of the inn, where there was also noise and a clothesline full of clothes and sheets.

4. Finally, the mattress was old, probably used a lot and with that sink of use in the middle, which did not make it very comfortable.

Amazing location, friendly staff, but not so good facilities

We stayed at Imbale for a couple of days over a Brazilian holiday weekend with a large group of gringo friends.  The pousada is located right on the dunes of Imbassai that separate the ocean from the river.  In order to get to the pousada, you have to park your car in the town, and then walk a couple hundred meters through the sand to finally arrive.  This works well with a backpack, not so well with lots of heavy suitcases.  

The owner of the pousada is wonderful, truly accommodating, and extremely helpful. He set us up in one of the best rooms, at the very top of the dune, with a majestic view of both the ocean and the town of Imbassai.  The rooms themselves are quite simple: small bathroom which ran out of hot water a couple of times, a small fan, and thin walls.  We had a difficult time sleeping, but that was due to a festival in the nearby town, which went on until the early morning.  Luckily, lazing in the hammock set up outside our room allowed me to catch up on some much needed rest during the day.

Breakfast was fantastic.  The view from the breakfast nook was amazing, and the owner and his staff catered to our every desire.  

The fact that the pousada is right on the beach, and is basically connected to a barraca (beach restaurant) makes it a great choice.  The price is reasonable.  But it's the attention of the owner that makes this pousada stand out above others in the town.  When the rooms get upgraded, this will truly become a can't-miss spot in Bahia.
