It is by far the best resort in Porto Seguro. It is built with high-end european standards, differently from almost all the other "hotels" in the area that look cheap, very poorly constructed and un-maintained.
They speak english (which is very unlikely in other places...) and everybody is very friendly.

Relax and Fitness

Nice and spaceous condo's. Though breakfast servings started from the second week of our stay, the diversity of things on the buffet was amazing! Very friendly and helpfull staff, great oceanview and using our rental buggy (do it, it's fun!!) Xurupita is a great homebase to discover Bahia! 'Come for a week, stay for a lifetime'...well, for another three weeks next year definately!!

Nice place

Me and my wife stayed there for 5 nights,I must say that the resort is in a very good shape,apartments are huge and very well maintained,as well as all the pool area,very clean.
The management (that we met during our stay) put a lot of efforts and investments in order to make this place look like a little paradise.
Talking about the staff,however very helpful and friendly,is affected by his lack of professionalism.
For example,we could never had a safe in our room,even though we asked every day,they were always replying with courtesy:batteries are not good,we sent someone to buy,etc...not very professional.
Breakfast is not up to resort standards,i.e very basic and held by one waitress only(who is responsible for cooking and refilling the buffet).Reception desk has very strange opening hours,close at 5pm!
Location is quite far from beach and really far from city center,I recommend to rent a car to be independant,otherwise you can use the resort shuttle which leaves every hour.
Wifi internet is in poor conditions and works very slowly.
They have very well maintained gym,squash,pilatis room.

Needs staff improvment

Spent 1 week there, from the 18th Aug 2012 to the 25th Aug 2012. We stayed on a self-catering basis. The staff in general were polite and courteous. The apartment was quite spacious but lacked a few essentials. There was no toaster, no hairdryers, no easily accessible internet, free or otherwise, no mosquito nets (a must in the area).

There are no complimentary towels to use poolside or at the beach. You will be charged a daily rate which is virtually as much as if you purchased your own towels. There is nothing in the way of entertainment for children or indeed adults. 

There is a small pool which is ok. There is a poolside bar and restaurant which we did not use (self-catering) so I can't comment on the standard. We did have an issue with the poolside bar manageress who told us that we weren't allowed to bring our own drinks poolside. This I found unacceptable as we paid to stay at a resort on a self-catering basis. What was particularly infuriating was when we made some popcorn for the kids (6&4) and were told that they can't have the popcorn poolside!

The resort is quite a distance from the beach so you have a lenghty walk. The beach is ok and the water, although not the clearest or cleanest, is ok. The town centre is some distance away and you will need a car or use taxis or public transport.

It is highly unlikely that we would stay at this resort again. I can't in good conscience recommend this resort, which purports to be 4/5 star, to anyone. Until standards are improved, if you want to visit Porto Seguro in Brazil, avoid Xurupita.
