Miriam was the best host we could have dreamed up.  Between her and her visiting grandson, they made our stay perfect. Each morning we had fresh baked scones and muffins ( different each day), fresh fruit, fabulous coffee and other assorted cereal, yogurt and juices.  I like my coffee iced, so each morning, I had ice cubes in my glass.  We were there 10 days, so we got to know each other and by the time we departed, we left some new, lifelong friends. The shared bathroom was no big deal as we were traveling with friends. The house is beautiful and filled with great pieces of furniture. We are planning another trip in a few years to see the fall colors.  We will definitely pick a time when Miriam has room for us. Oh, and it is dog friendly to boot.  Thank you Miriam and Cody for a brilliant vacation.

Home away from home on PEI

Fitting to stay in a home that was built BEFORE confederation on Canada's 150th. We enjoyed our stay here with Miriam "our hostess". The house is very well kept and clean and Miriam provides a great lite breakfast with muffins to travel with.

A beautiful 1860 home

My friend and I had a great experience at Heritage Home B&B in Charlottetown Prince Edward Island. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was delicious! The Bed and Breakfast was very authentic and maritime style right in the middle of fields. It was beautiful! It was a great deal and I would go back. Felt at home.

We booked this B&B for three nights but did not even spend one night. It was not as advertised by any means. Maybe it was a "newbie" mistake, but being listed as a double room, we assumed it would be more than one bed, not just a double bed. As two friends travelling together, sharing a bed was not what we wanted. 
The room was crammed with old furniture (not necessarily antiques, more like junk) and pictures of the family. My friend opened a drawer to unpack a bit and found personal items. It was hot and stuffy with no air conditioning. There was no TV in the room or the "sitting room". 
We packed our things back up and left to find other accommodations, and when speaking to the owner about this, she was far from friendly and non-apologetic. 
DO NOT BOOK HERE!

Not As Advertised

Heritage Home Bed & Breakfast, 160 Hyde Park Road, Cornwall, P.E.I. 

We booked this B&B on Priceline.  Big Mistake. The pictures and description of this place are very misleading.  The house is old as advertized, but the rest is  exaggerated.  There is nothing quaint or charming about this place. Nothing has been updated in many years. The bedrooms remind me of my great grandmother's farmhouse...and not in a good way. The full sized bed was rickety and the mattress was lumpy, bumpy, saggy and well worn. By looking at it without the sheets it looked as if it was from the 1960's...maybe earlier. It was not easy to sleep on it. The towels were threadbare and mis-matched. My washcloth was not soft, but rough and seemed previously used, then dried on the rack. The owner claimed it was just line dried, not dried in the dryer. REALLY? The only piece that didn't make it to the dryer.  She didn't even offer to replace it.
No TV available anywhere in the place. No sitting area in the bedroom. No amenities of any kind. Breakfast consisted of small individual boxed cereals with tea or coffee. Nothing else offered.  Yuck!
We left quickly and vowed to never come back and to warn as many of the public as we can. Nothing could entice us to go back to this place.  Beware!
