Feel Inn hostel is mediocre at it's best but its location is what makes it special. It's a short walk from the Forbidden city and lots of interesting places in Beijing.  It's in a quiet alley which is a great shortcut towards Tiananment square.
For this location its price was also excellent when I visited although their bar and breakfast was a bit pricey but there are not too many cheaper pubs in the vicinity. 
The beds were alright, rooms are dark but clean-ish. There are only a very few bathrooms which are also where the toilets are so be prepared to wait for quite some time if the place is full.
I wasn't fully impressed with everything, but this will be my HQ during my next visit to the city for sure.

The location is what makes this place good

I've been to the hostel at the beginning of october. The staff was really friendly and the rooms were clean. The staff told us some places where we can go and have us some advices around the city. The hostel is located in the hutong district, quite a nice place in Beijing! The location is really good the hostel is basically just next to the forbidden city and the tianamen square. The nights were really quite and the breakfast was alright, but not included in the price. Would stay there another time! 

Friendly staff, really good location. 

Location is the main if not the only advantage of this hostel.  As mentioned in the hostel description, it's closed to the FC and Tiennamen Square as well as the night market (which I recommend). 
Booked a double bed room with private bathroom. Room was not squeaky clean, just good enough to drop your stuff and sleep there. I was there for 4 nights and the room was never cleaned up, they just emptied the garbage bins. Bring your toiletries, they do not provide any.
Bathroom is small and gets entirely wet when you take a shower. They have a drain issue as water drains very slowly. I didn't shampoo when I was there as hair would have probably make the situation worst. And yes there was sewer smell at times. 
The staff speaks ok English and is helpful if you have questions on how to get around in the city 
If you do go, ask for your room not to be close to the street as there was a man who would come sit in from of the window of the room I was in each morning and would spend time clearing his throat and spitting. It was quite disgusting to be awaken by that each morning.  
If you are looking to save some money on accommodation and wants to be closed to some of the main attractions in the city and if it is for couple of days, this hostel will do. Otherwise find something else. 

Location is great. The place is passable.

Location great, staff friendly (though very limited English spoken), but the facilities in the 2 rooms we stayed in were very basic and in need iof repair.
Kids room the toilet cistern would repeatedly fail & wouldn’t flush( they used our toilet), in our room every time you showered or flushed the toilet it seemed to disturb something below & the whole room smelt of faeces for 30 minutes later until it settled again( we used there shower).
It looks charming down an old hutong but I sadly wouldn’t stay again.

Location, location, BUT......

This place is terrible. They left us in a really venerable situation because of their greed. We booked a private room about a week before travelling. Usually we have dorms but after flying 14hrs we decided to get a private to make sure we got some good rest. After a long journey to to hostel the woman said our room had been cancelled. We hadn't cancelled the room or received any notifications that it had been cancelled, such a emails. She was adamant we cancelled it a few days ago. But I had been online only a few hours before and checked our reservation. She typed away on the computer for ages to show us it had been cancelled. I suspect she was cancelling it there and then. Then came the worst part and where we knew she was trying to play us. She then said that the room was still available but now it would be 3 times the price!! She was pretty pushy and rude about it. I remember when we made the reservation on hostel world we looked on booking. On there the price was higher, not as high as she just quoted but higher than on hostelworld. I suspect she was unhappy and wanted more out of us that than price we had agreed. We had no internet and were really exhausted by this point. Luckily we had maps.me and it showed other hostels up on there. We walked 1.6 miles with our backpacks to Leo hostel where the staff were much nicer and sorted us out straight away. We had one night in a private there and then moved to 365 for some nights in a dorm as Leo was full. Also a great hostel in good location.
