My husband and I wanted a place to stay for a couple of nights so that we could climb Mount Tai, and the Home Inn was a good place for that. The quality was similar to a Chinese Ibis, clean, air-conditioned, but plain and not fancy. The bed was quite uncomfortable because you could feel all the coils in the matress, but for a couple of nights it didn't matter. The man at reception spoke some English, which made life easier. 

The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the Dai Miao temple, and if you pick your route well, you'll walk through a street of amazing street food, at 2-3 yuan per portion. The whole long street that the Home Inn is on seemed to be under construction when we were there, which made the walking a bit tricky. The taxi ride from the far train station that the Shanghai-Beijing trains stop at took about 10-15 min and was around 35, but beware of scammers who will try to offer you a taxi ride to the city for 50 yuan without the meter on.
