The title comes from the sign above the front door. We very much enjoyed this hotel. Our room itself was large, the private bathroom was divided into a shower room and a toilet/sink room. Compared to US standards, the toilet room is TINY. The beds were comfortable; there was a TV w/ both English and Spanish language channels. There were 2 fans in our room and if we opened the door to the patio, we also got a very nice breeze. We did not have a fridge in our room. Aldo was on duty when we arrived; he was extremely helpful and friendly. The owner (Jorge) is also very friendly and helpful. He is well traveled and is engaging. There is a very nice breakfast area and the breakfast (fresh fruit, coffee, eggs, toast, and juice) was delicious. We found the hotel as we were walking around the first day we were in CR because we saw a sign saying "arts and crafts" - we didn't realize it was a) a hotel or b) the hotel we were staying in the last night of our trip. There are many craft/art pieces, all made in CR, available for sale. There is no hotel parking but one could park on the street (not advised as it is not protected) or in a nearby parking lot which has someone there 24/7. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, parks, churches, and shopping areas. It is a clean, quiet, delightful, quaint LOCAL hotel, not a Marriott/Hyatt/Holiday Inn. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Be Nice or Leave

We stayed here the last night we were in Costa Rica and am glad we did.  Aldo, who greeted us when we arrived, was very helpful and friendly.  The rooms were large and well outfitted.  Jorge, the owner, was there in the morning and served us a wonderful breakfast of fresh fruit and eggs and toast.  The decor is full of local artwork and crafts. Would definitely stay there again if we were to return.

The place to stay in Alajuela!

We had to drop off our car at a rental place and they helped us with logistics! Our last hotel had botched our laundry and not dried it all the way and they let us use their dryer for free without any concerns or hesitation!! They got us a cab in 2 seconds in the middle of the night to he airport!! They were so nice and pleasant and it was a perfect stay! They also recommended a wonderful dinner spot a few blocks away (jalapeño Central). We were so grateful for their help!!!! :)

My husband and I stayed here for the night before we headed onward. The hotel is located 1.3k from the airport and if you are ambitious enough to walk it, you could. Hotel provided us with taxi help in the morning with taxi cab costing no more $4-$5.
Our one night stay was perfect. In the evening when we got in we walked around the square and the near by mercado. There are lots of great coffee shops and restaurants around. 
The following morning we woke up to a free continental breakfast. Fresh fruits, toast and coffee. 
The owner is really nice and attententive and really wants you to feel at home. 
Definitely recommend staying here especially if you have a layover or early flight. Or even if you want to check out San Jose area. 



One nice stay felt like family. 

I found this hotel to be a good value place with friendly staff. Rooms are small and basic but all you need for a short stay. It's very close to the centre of town where there are some decent places to eat and only 5 minutes to the airport. 
If you want all the bells and whistles than this is probably not for you, but if you just want a simple, clean place to sleep then I would recommend this hotel. I've I'm ever back in San Jose and want to be close to the airport then I will definitely stay here again.

Good value and location

This was a lovely hotel 2 years ago, they are still using the photos from then.  Aldo is not there anymore, the place is really dirty and run down and very disappointing now. Ropey old pale brown bedspreads, room on the right is now an empanada stall so the smell of rancid fat is everywherel     Kitchen is filthy, ants running around.  The railings outside used to be sparkling white, now they are pale black with dirt, very sad. Mould growth in the shower. Used to be a nice cooked breakfast included  now you have to pay for coffee
