What an absolutely beautiful place to stay.  Our room, Heron, overlooked the river with floor to ceiling windows.  It was so peaceful with only the sound of the river flowing past.  The room itself was spotlessly clean with incredibly comfortable beds.  The food was simple but excellent - very fresh and tasty produce both morning and evening. The staff were incredible.  Special thanks to Marcela on reception, for whom nothing was too much trouble and who went out of her way to help.  The lodge has a feeding station for birds and seeing the incredible birds so close up was a truly magical experience.  Do go, you won't be disappointed.

Bird paradise

Nice hotel in a beautiful setting.  We stayed for 2 nights while visiting Sarapiqui and were very happy with our visit.

The grounds are really nice and set in the rainforest. Very cool vibe, especially at night all lit up. Nice pool area and lots of siting areas where you can hang with a drink or a book.

Our room was nice, a bit small but comfortable. AC worked great, which is a must in this part of Costa Rica. Only complaint is the bathroom, which was outdated and could really use some TLC. Management, if you’re listening, upgrade the bathrooms! 

Food was ok. Breakfast is a buffet with several options. We ate dinner one night and it was fine - nothing special.

All in all, a good place for a couple of days in an area of Costa Rica not overrun with tourists.

Nice Stay in the Rainforest

We spent two nights in the gorgeous Heron Room, over looking the rainforest and the river.  This hotel is surrounded with be lovely  gardens and several trails to walk.  We loved wandering around the property enjoying the beautiful flowers and the many brightly coloured birds.

Twice a day the staff put out fruit and seeds for the birds and you can watch them up close.  I got some amazing photos of beautiful birds!  It was incredible to see!

The pool area is very nice and the restaurant has a lovely breakfast buffet.  We ate all our meals at the hotel restaurant and the food was great.

The reception area is beautiful and decorated with lots of stained glass, flowers, colourful furniture and nice seating areas.  

We loved this hotel and highly recommend it! 

 Ask for the HERON room…in our opinion, the best room at the hotel!  Spacious, rocking chairs to sit in to enjoy the view, and air conditioned.

Fabulous Place To See Birds!

This resort exceeded my expectations. Lovely location. Very nice room with an outdoor patio and hammock. Two lovely swimming pools. Great location for seeing wildlife. Good food and we didn’t need to queue for long at breakfast and dinner. Coffee and tea always available. The resort does advertise a happy hour for drinks at the bar and we did have an issue with one member of staff not understanding that. However the issue was quickly sorted by the owner . I would thoroughly recommend this resort

Wonderful stay in a beautiful location

Stayed here three nights. Such a great place! Very laid back atmosphere, friendly and helpfull staff. Excellent nature around the rooms, we saw wildlife just walking around: five types of frogs, bat, sloth, loads of birds. Really enjoyed  the pool aswell as swiming in the river. Food was very nice too! And the light comfortable room with private hammock sealed the deal. I loved it here, would highly recommend it to anyone.

Excellent place to experience pura vida

This was such a unique hotel with so much to do on the property! The hiking trails were amazing and had so many beautiful plants and birds. The pools were so relaxing and the food was fantastic. The nights were very quiet and peaceful too.

Absolutely stunning area

An amazing tropical style hotel.  Rooms were great and food was also very good, both evening meal and breakfast.  In the morning there is a bird feeding area where you can sit and watch the different birds arrive for breakfast.  Unfortunately we could only stay one night as it was a place where you could wander around for a day in the gardens or just sit and watch the birds in the feeding area.

Brilliant

Friendly, family run hotel.  Our family did 14 days in CR.   this is one of the best hotels we stayed in.  The staff was beyond helpful.  If you go they collect magnets from all their guests states/countries/provinces.  Berniece  and Berniece were amazing and treated us like family.   Congratulations on graduating med school!!!   

Felt like family 

This was my favorite place I stayed in while in Costa Rica. Family run. The chef is the owner and the wife greeted us on arrival. It is a homage to the eco culture of Costa Rica and every effort has been made to make the grounds as natural and inviting to wildlife. I loved it.

Eco paradise

We had a great stay ! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our room was comfortable with an outdoor patio. The lounge area was very cosy with books and games. Food was good with many options and fresh juices. Pool area was perfect to relax. Many birds to watch and nice trails around, but Watch out for Mosquitoes. I recommend this place.
