Everything you need in a chill hostel ! Surf boards and close to the beach, open area with hamacs and trees, big open guest kitchen... Surprised the hostel was not full !

Awesome vibes, staff and prices !

I came with a friend for almost a week. The private room was perfect for us. We really enjoyed the chill atmosphere, the nice kitchen area and the calm location away from the center. And what to say about the owners, always trying to improve their place, always smiling and here to help at anytime for anything. We will come back for sure!! Thank you so much

We loved our stay

overall the atmosphere is decent when  you walk in at night and the lights are set up all twinkley and beautiful. but i live here in Costa rica and I had work early the next morning and didnt want to drive an hour away back to myhouse just to get up at 6 and drive all the way back to Tamarindo.. so i needed a cheap place to stay and this was it.. 
But i think i will take my money elsewhere next time. I am sitting here at work with my eyes super puffy because i barely got sleep last night. The overall property is pretty small and the walls are thin so i was able to hear everybody partying and yelling and having fun until pretty late. Not only that but everyoe in my dorm were hanging out and talking with the lights on.so iwent to the front desk and asked for my money back and told him why. he apologized and went and turned the light off in the dorm and asked everyone on the property to turn the music down. it was very nice of him. so i go back to bed and i was soooo close to falling asleep on the top of the bunk bed. but then a couple rudely came in giggling and laughing dropping things and making all sorts of noise. then they got the bunk underneath me. And then started....doing stuff! you can imagine the whole bunk was moving. how the hell am i supposed to sleep?!?! they were moving around making noise for i dont know how long. it felt like hours.i busted out my earphones and listened to calming music but that doesnt stop the movement of the bed! and  they kept getting up and leaving and comingback and doing the same thing for hours. i am exhausted. and no i have 11 hrs of work to endure. not to say this is the hostels fault but it would be really great if couples would get a privae room out of consideration for others...oh but i forgot...who has consideration these days!?!?! very unpleasant experience

looking for somewhere to  sleep?

We stayed with two persons in the dorms. As said in another review there are two puppies running around but they didn’t bother us, they were pretty cute and they definitely didn’t keep us up at night. 

However, I didn’t really like the atmosphere of the place. Its very (too much?) laid back. There’s people in the hammocks all day, who didn’t all seem to be travelers??

It’s a camping with an outside kitchen and a bathroom building. Each stall houses a toilet and a shower, which felt kinda unclean to me. There’s a weird smell in these few blocks of town, which was kinda gross.

Anyway, nothing major I can fault on the place but I definitely wouldn’t be staying here again.

Not too bad, not good either

Jammed in a residential area, the loud music in this place plays late into the night, resulting in many complaints from neighboring homes and condos. 

NOTHING “Eco” about it! The gray water from showers (and who knows what else) is just routed to an open air run-off sewer along the street in front. This place is a disaster,
