We booked a 1 night stay for our trip to the Plitvic lakes. We were welcomed by the owner with a traditional (strong!) Coratian drink and a nice talk. The owner showed us directions to the nearest good restaurant, Vila Velebita, which also scored well on tripadvisor (always a bonus).
The room is large and well suited for four persons. Everything was clean and well cared for and the large garden is a big plus when the weather is good.

If you're looking for the beste price/quality for a stay near the Plitvic lakes, then look no further.

At checkout we were offered coffee, tea and cookies which was the topping on the cake for our stay.


Excellente stay with perfect host

My wife and I have just spent a couple of nights, with 2 friends, at what must be the best & friendliest accommodation in the Plitvice area.

Guest house Family Varda is totally immaculate throughout, spotlessly clean everywhere, excellently appointed in every way, super, comfortable, large rooms set in a beautiful area ideally situated for the Plitvice National Park.

The hospitality from the owners is frankly unrivalled !
From the moment we arrived to the moment he dropped us off to catch the bus when we left, Zeljko and family were the perfect attentive hosts in every way. He even ferried us around, as we did not have transport of our own. So kind !

The €6 breakfast was awesome. With meats, cheeses, tea, coffee, fresh rolls & bread, Croatian donuts, homemade cakes and freshly cooked omelettes....phew ! Brilliant !!

If you are near Plitvice, you should stay here, it is an oasis of pure joy, and Croatia at its best !!

Thank you Family Varda for a wonderful stay, we wish it could have been longer.... But we'll definitely be back !



Fabulous Stay Near Plitvice National Park

Very nice place to stay. Warm welcome with a strong slilovice plum drink! Only 5 min driving from the Plitvice lakes. The apartment is clean and the stay is not touristic like many other accomodations. Staying at Family Varda is Very pleasant! 

Strong man, strong drink!!

The rooms are simple, but have everything you need, including a basic attached bathroom. We only stayed for the night and left very early in the morning, but we had a good night's sleep. We had rented two bedrooms and one of the attached bathrooms did not have warm water in the morning - but we did not have a chance to check with the hosts, who might have corrected the problem if we had time to inform them about it. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and gave us good information to make the most of our visit to the beautiful Plitvice Lakes. We did not eat breakfast there, but the hosts were nice enough to offer coffee to one of the early risers in our group.

However they said - No smoking rooms but all the things like:  sheet, pillow were full of cigarette smell. It was not so nice!
They also said it is an apartment, but more like a BIG HOUSE with several rented room that can be booked separately.
