Our two night stay was great, with a good vibe from the place, hosts and other guests. 

Special mention to Leo for being so helpful with tips for the National Park. 

Extra special mention for the fact that I accidentally left some valuables behind, and Leo arrange for these to be posted back to me. Above and beyond!

Highly recommend place to stay!

Great vibe and very helpful hosts

We had the most incredible experience at plitvice national park all because of this hostel and the host, Leo. 

The forcast called for rain all week (did any see a drop while at the park), so we booked 3 nights so we could have a selection of the best day. We decided to get the 2 day pass because Leo provides FREE rides to and from the park! Drop off at 8am, pick up at 4pm which is perfect as the park is empty until 1130 when the tour buses start arriving so you can hike for hours in paradise with no one around. 

The hostel is extreamly clean, welcoming, and the beds are great as well! Lots of blankets are provided if you get cold at night, as well as fresh sheets when you arrive. Lots of room to relax after a long day of hiking, a hammock, badminton, wood fireplace, huge covered picnic table to have dinner outside, TV with a selection of movies with lots of couch space, and a FULL kitchen (actually has everything!).

 It seriously gets better, at 7pm he drives everyone to the supermarket to get food, supplies, and of course beer and wine! This creates a great family atmosphere shopping and cooking together while talking about your adventures at the park. 

We have been to dozens of hostels all over the planet, already forgot most. We will forever remember this one, our time at the park, the friends that we made, and of course Leo and his incredible hospitality, thank you so much.

Best hostel ever!

Amazing place to stay while visiting the parks. We booked two full days as the weather called for rain and we wanted to make sure we got at least one sunny day in the parks. We called Leo the owner when our bus dropped us off at the wrong stop and he came and picked us up!

We stayed in a 6 bed dorm room. The beds were very comfortable with good pillows and Leo provided lots of blankets so we wouldn’t get cold. 

The property is lovely, a nice front deck with a big table for everyone to sit at. Great for watching the sunsets over the hills at night. There is a kitchen with everything you need for cooking (oven, stove top, microwave, kettle, toaster, utensils, pots/pans...). There is also a fridge and freezer so you can store your food while you are there. Each night Leo organized a trip to the local market so we were able to get food to make for ourselves while we stayed there since there aren’t any restaurants near by. There was coffee and tea available to all the guests, which I appreciated when getting up early to head to the parks!

The entire place was always spotlessly clean! Bathrooms with showers with good water pressure. There was also washing machines which we did not use, but you could ask Leo if you wanted to use them. 

Getting to and from the parks wasn’t a problem as Leo provided transportation for us. Each morning we all met in the kitchen at 8am and he would drive us to entrance 2 of the Park. He then showed us where he would meet us back at 4pm to pick us up at the end of the day. 

Couldn’t say enough good things about this place. Everyone we met there was very nice and made it an enjoyable stay. Leo was the best host we have ever had. He made sure to answer any questions we had. He helped us plan our route in the park and gave us helpful tips on ways to avoid the crowds that arrive later in the day. He even drove us back to the bus station on the day we left. 

If you’re thinking of going to the falls spending a night at this hostel so you can get an early start is definitely worth it!

Best place to stay!

The hostel is convenient because Leo, owner/manager provides lifts to the park and bus stops and is really helpful pre visit. The place is scrupulously clean and tidy and very quiet. The only drawback is mixed gender rooms which I wasn’t prepared for.

Convenient and cheap

If I was going to the Plitvice national parks again, I would stay at the Plitvice Backpackers. His shuttle service to and from the national park and grocery store were invaluable and the way the hostel was run ensured a sociable experience. We were particularly grateful for Leo's flexibility
