We loved our apartment’s location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Stradun. Renata was a thoughtful hostess, stocking tea, coffee, and bath amenities. We were able to navigate directions to some of Dubrovnik’s best restaurants and bars from this location, as well as hop on the wall to get panoramic views of the city. If coming to Dubrovnik, do not hesitate to stay here.

Dubrovnik for Days!

I stayed at Renata’s twice, once in September 2018 by myself for three nights and again in October with my husband for two nights. The location is incredible, in the walled town, overlooking the Old Port and the city walls. We stayed in two different apartments, both spacious and spotless, with lots of storage space, great lighting, and basic kitchen/dining supplies for two. Renata has thought of everything, and she lives on-site, if you need anything. She is helpful, friendly, and caters to guests’ needs. (This home has been in her family for multiple generations; she grew up here.) The location puts you right in the heart of the Old Town, near restaurants and everything you want to visit. It’s pedestrian only, so you only see delivery vehicles if you’re up early.

Dubrovnik is expensive, and this was one of the most expensive stays of our trip. In September, the rate was 110 Euro/night; in October, it went down to 90 Euro/night. Worth it, in my view.

There are several sets of stairs so if you have mobility limitations, it may not work. I was somewhat impaired but it was worth negotiating the stairs: Old Town main level to Renata’s neighborhood-15 steps; neighborhood street to Renata’s street-15 steps; Renata’s street to first floor (equals second floor in U.S. parlance)-15 steps (unit #2); and 15 more if you are on the next floor up (unit #1).

I loved unit #2! I could look out the window at the people walking the walls—and could actually converse with them if I wanted! And yet it felt completely private: I was looking down to see them, so they couldn’t see in. Unit #1 is a little higher up, so I had to lean out a bit to see the walkers. The view of the Old Port is great from either level. The higher unit is under the eaves, with some low angles, so you have to watch your head a bit.

It was still swimming season when I was there, and there are places to swim right around the corner of the port, as well as excursions you can take to nearby beaches. (The apartments could use a few more towel racks or hooks for drying beach towels, which were generously provided.

I would highly recommend this location and the delightful and friendly host!



Perfect!

Booking this wonderful apartment in the Old Town of Dubrovnik was a real find for this solo traveler.  The location is perfect, with two big, bright windows overlooking the Old Port and the City Walls just a few feet below.  No matter what time of day or night, there were always some interesting vistas just outside...fishermen, weddings, colorful cats.  The scenery was constantly changing.  At nighttime, the gently lapping water against the boats outside was very relaxing.  Renata and her husband were the consummate hosts, assisting me in so many ways and answering my myriad of questions. Although I was only there for three days and three nights, I would have been very comfortable staying longer.  Thank you so much, Renata!

This is a gem!

House Renata is superbly located in the Old Town of Dubrovnik and just a few hundred meters from a delightful rocky beach just outside the city walls. Renata, our host, was a pleasure to work with and very responsive to all our inquiries.  If you take Apartment 2 you will have a lovely view of the old port and the city walls.  It's a perfect, charming place for a couple. There are also two other apartments in House Renata that can sleep more people.

A great stay in Apartment 2

Great apartment in a great location with plenty of space and an amazing view of the old port! It is very easy to access the transfer to Lokrum Island, beaches, and the city walls from this location. Renata was very welcoming and helpful! She helped answer our questions and let us know the best places to pick up groceries.

Great Apartment!

The title of this review really says it all. The apartment situated in the walls of the old town was at the top of the building (apartment 1) with lots of character and amazing views across the harbour. With the apartment itself comfortable and pleasantly decorated and furnished. The location allowed for easy access to the old town and surrounding area and it was great to look out on the bustle of life around the harbour and watch people in the morning walking the ancient walls as we had breakfast. The host Renata greeted us on the first day and showed us around, leaving us to our own devices but checking in to make sure we had sufficient fresh towels mid week. This was a great place to stay for a week away and I would highly recommend it for an apartment getaway.
