We enjoyed our stay at Kiko apartment. The best feature is the balcony which overlooks the bay of Pomena. The views are so good that you are tempted not to go anywhere else. The apartment was clean and well equiped. The bathroom was brand new and lovely. The owners are in the house next door and always happy to help.  They have a nice restaurant and offer food as a part of the package but we only had accommodation.  The apartment is 1min walk to restaurants and shops and we liked to go to a different one every night.
One word of warning only - moskitos. Best to bring some repellant with you.

Fantastic location

The room was very basic, but was what we expected for the price. Also a shared bathroom, however this wasn't an issue. It is located right by the sea, withing walking distance to the national park, so the location is excellent. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but the wine was lovely!

Great location but very basic

Very Nice host! The appartment was very basic but okay, except for the little Scorpio in the appartment.
But No kidding, if you want a good priced stay near the entrance of the parc, this IS a good spot. The restaurant though is over priced and the food was terrible, there is a very good Italian restaurant at the harbour, cheaper and much better !!! 

Good location to visit the national parc but do not eat there

Risotto sea food : only few musle in bad Rice ... Octopus salad : strong like a tire... Absolutely not tasty and expensive for this poor quality... Only the site on the port is attractive. White wine very acid. Eat anything else in an other place !

Very bad restaurant

I was tired, with a huge backpack on, high season, and Kiko the owner offered me a good price to stay here for 5 nights. I had a look at the room, it seemed OK, a bit scruffy but I would not ask for more at that price (1000kn for my whole stay - I was travelling solo).

The location was great, yes. Virtually the best location you want to be at in Pomena, just at the start of a path that leads to the lakes, on a quiet spot, view over the water of the port (however, the balcony is shared with others - no privacy) and close to the main street with shops, bike rentals and ATM. But location is not everything.

Now, the list of cons. First of all, the service. Don't get me wrong: Kiko is very kind, and the staff were very kind to me too, especially the two girls Ivana and Josepha. However, they were not trained at all. On my first night, I had dinner at Kiko's and I was served white wine at room temperature (it's killing me!) and I was asked to keep my fork. The bread was of the consistence of chewing gum. My first meal I paid for 200kn and honestly, I've had better meals for that price. The breakfast was even a worse experience, in fact I decided to have it elsewhere from then on. I was served ham and cheese that were clearly those you find pre-packaged at the mini-market. Not what you would expect in Mljet, right?

Regarding the room, what can I say. I stayed for 5 nights and after night 3 I asked if someone could clean my room. Kiko came to knock on my door (very professionally!) asking how many more nights I would stay. And my room never got cleaned. The toilet seat was broken, one of the lights by the bed was missing, too. Josepha kindly fixed my sink that was spilling water all over the place, but that's about everything I got from them. The staff seemed very fed up to work there. I don't have anything against the girls, I think all the blame goes to the owner. I am sorry, Kiko, but this is my honest opinion.

If you only want a cheap deal and you feel like you could use this place as a dormitory, be aware that even the sleep quality is not great, poor sound insulation in this old house, I could hear people going to the toilet very early in the morning from my pillow. A lot of noise woke me up always so early, even if I complained with the staff. You don't wanna have to sleep with earplugs during your holidays, right?

In a nutshell: avoid.
