We got there just to have lunch, and we finally spent the whole afternoon and evening laughing and enjoying. 

We hardly recommend the place to drink mojitos in front of the sea. The location, the sunset and the atmosphere was incredible. We even enjoyed a live concert. Food was ok and razonable price.

Fran, the waiter “born&race” in Croatia, was super nice with us, trying to help us to find a room in the area. 

We wish we could spent more time in Zavala. Thank you very much for such a lovely day!!

Did a lot of research before coming here, and I wish someone had written a review like this for us to read.
Large, clean room, balcony over water (and bar), aircon, good sized fridge, good WiFi, no TV. Comfortable bed, with weird sheet arrangement. Great view & superb swimming in crystal clear water, if not too windy. Bar & food on ground floor or very good restaurant a few steps away.
Small shop & ATM nearby.
Could have been better communication from host on what is where, and how everything works in this part of the world.
Beware the streets are very narrow paved donkey tracks which make the Amalfi coast road look like a highway. Makes for a very exciting drive to anywhere else on the island.
Prices were surprisingly expensive compared to Greece or Italy.
English (Australian ?) is commonly spoken.

The peaceful atmosphere was shattered toward the end of our stay when possibly school holidays started & the tourist floodgates opened.
Zavala was suddenly seething with eastern european families & feral children totally out of control. The highlight was having a nappy changed on the table next to us while we were having lunch. Screaming naked toddlers everywhere. Kid friendly indeed. The apartments also became noisy party sites.
It was a culture shock after Italy & Greek islands, & all a bit too Slavic for us.
We were glad to leave, and despite the lovely water, won't be back.

Started lovely, ended Frenetically

We visited Zaca restaurant 3 times during our family vacation in Zavala this year. It’s such a wonderful and cosy restaurant, almost placed on the Beach.
We have tried pizza, burger, risotto, damatian plate, tuna steak and pork steak.

Nice view, nice food and friendly staff

Just one Minute to the Beach.Prices are affordable. It's basic, but good Service, clean and very friendly. Next to Villa Zaca you can rent Quads or Motorcycles (and explore the Island.) Will come next year again..

The village is small and quiet. Lovely.
The apartments are basic and simple. There is air conditioning and a refrigerator. The bathroom is spacious. Everything is very clean!
A spacious terrace with beautiful views.
The breakfast is good. You can order dinner for little money.
The dinner is super good! Wifi works very well.

We enjoyed our stay.

The village is difficult to reach by car. Narrow streets and a long dark tunnel. There are few parking spaces at the apartment. The public places are occupied by locals.

Found this place after searching high and low for a place to stay within budget in Hvar. Not knowing anything about the location at all, booked this as it was by the water and so reasonably priced. We were not disappointed! What a fabulous location! We took a taxi from Hvar port after arriving by ferry out to Zavala. The drive itself was picturesque and fascinating views of authentic Croatian villages. Zavala is a hidden gem, beautiful water and plenty of options for dining. Villa Zaca was excellent value, clean comfortable and the ultimate in relaxing by the seaside. I would definately come here again and stay much longer than the three nights we stayed! 

Excellent value accommodation in a gorgeous location

Tomato soup with sweet whipped cream…this is what I was served and I am still in shock. Thankfully m, I was able to remove the whipped cream from the soho as soon as I realised what it was.

Also, we ordered a vegetarian plate as a starter and we were served a plate with fish. When we pointed out this to the waiter, he said he had run out of asparagus. He did not inform us of that and did not give us a different vegetarian option. This being said, tomato soup apart, the food was tasty and fresh.

We‘ve been waiting for our fries with ketchup for 45minutes (one port.) I don‘t know how two waiters are enough to serve around 30 tables?! Yesterday we’ve been waiting 20 minutes to pay ... I thought that yesterday we just weren‘t lucky but know I‘m sure ot‘s ridiculous.
