If you would like to try something different this is the place. All rooms have private bathroom, TV and free wi-fi. Breakfast was delicious and is included. The place is endless going up stairs, around turns and on. We were on the 3rd floor and the exposed beams were holding up the roof! Mind your head!  Our room was a real surprise! There was a king size bed, d cent lighting and then we started looking for the bathroom .... we found it up a ladder/ stairs just beyond the foot of the bed. The climb up is not for the faint of heart. At the top is a small bathroom with toilet and sink ... no door. So where is the shower? Oh, that was down the ladder and behind the stairs.And it was not a shower, it was a whirlpool tub, big enough for 2.  I understand this room would not appeal to everyone; in fact,we’d ask for a different room next visit. However, if you are tired of the same kind of room every hotel visit here is a chance for something different.  Rooms on the lower floors looked more conventional.
The location was a short walk to the Pilsner Urquell Brewery and the football(soccer) stadium. Lots of places to eat nearby.

What an amazing and unique place

Hotel příjemný, pokoje krásný a čistý, personál milý, snídaně klasické hotelové- průměrné. Jediné, co mi nesedne je lokace- je to sice blízko centra, ale musíte sejít z mostu a jdete na cestě, kde moc lidí nechodí. Ale neměla jsem žádný problém, ačkoliv jsem cestovala sama..  :-)// Good hotel with clean and comfortable rooms and nice staff, i would reccommend this hotel. Typical avarege hotel breakfests. Only think im not comfy about is location- its near the centre, but you have to get off bridge and it dont seem very safely- anyway i didnt have any problems :-)

Food and bear is ok, but the apartment is horror - durty, dark, old..  Mess in management. 
Brekfast is at 11 am! We recommend to go there for dinner or bear just to try something else, not only Pilsner, but no way stay there longer.

No...

This ex brewery has a very good beer called Lotr. A refreshing drink in a sunny day, a perfect beverage for the outstanding (but small) menu of the restaurant.
Other than this though there's not much left...
We came to Plzen to visit the city and the Pilsen Urquell brewery of course, and I have to say this pension has a good position for that. The city center and the brewery also, are in a walkable distance. 
In front of it you would find a horrible parking lot building, behind it you might see the river...behind the fence.
The room we got had a really unique shape an disposition of the furniture. If somebody would walk in the corridor you would hear it for sure. Also we could hear the other guests in the room nearby.
Suprisingly the bathtub was near the bed. No carpet or towel to collect the water accidentally coming out after a simple bath. 
The WC and the sink instead where...upstairs. Totally upstairs. You had to walk more or less fifteen steps on a really nice wood stair to reach this small closet (up three meters from the floor I would guess), and finally get released... Better not have to go in the middle of the night!
There was one single window. Unfortunatelly outside there was the great canvas advertisement of the pension covering all of it. Impossible to see outside, or to get some daylight. I would suggest also do not move the curtains, it seems they have never been touched/washed before.
Last but not least, an amazing decoration of spiderwebs through all the room. With spiders of course! Family of spiders. Those black one tipical of the wood. We had to kill some of them just to make sure not to eat too many during the night...
I wish you good luck in case you decide to book this pension, maybe the other rooms are better and we were extremely unlucky. 
And in case you need breakfast Sunday morning the only place that is open is the caffe' Fellini in the main piazza (no breakfast included or available at all at the pension). 
There is no reception in Pivovar Groll (you would pay and get the keys at the restaurant from a waiter), and none of the workers would arrive before 9, so be ready to schedule your day according to their needs.

Rustic...

the staff there in the restaurant are horrible lazy. we wait for a beer like 20minutes, than waiting for pay waiting for everything! They looked like they are at the funeral not at the job. There was only few guests and about 4people like staff and even that they were lazy a slow.
