When traveling in copenhagen, finding a reasonable deal seems near imporrible, however, value is where its at when staying in hotel Jørgensen. Basic but comfortable rooms, where one pretty much is just using it as base anyhow. The breakfast is decent and leaves you fed for the remainder of the morning.the staff are friendly, and ready to offer tips on the city and a smile. 

Second time staying with hotel, with a location hard to beat, especially when factoring in costs.

One issue to be aware of: the bathrooms are fairly gross, and in need of a makeover, specifically in area of tile grout and plumbing. Not too much of an issue when make your peace with all other elements of the stay, but perhaps worth while finding a way to make the pipes not smell of egg...

Good value for what it's worth

Our room was Nr. 37. Simple, very clean, comfortable. Two remarks,though : A. the wash-basin was very small and very close to the mirror-shelve.   B. the latch of the window (giving to Israels Plads) didn't work. So, security was not 100% guaranteed. Τhe staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. All in all a good value for money choice, considering that you are within walking distance to Norreport metro station, parks and other Copenhagen sight-seeings.

3 nights,2 1/2 Days in Copenhagen

+The location is great, it's just 15 min to the city centre and there are a few beautiful parks nearby. Each main sightseeing is in a walk distance and there is no need to use public transport at all. Staff is very helpful, friendly and polite. Overall experience is positive as consider this place only for a sleepover.

-There are no enough sockets in a room, if you turn the heater on there are only few left for all guests. I found this very inconvenient. The condition of a showers could've been better but it's fine for not a picky and squeamish person.

A good value for money to stay for a few days (Hostel, bed in a 6beds room)

So my friend and I booked to stay here on a 2 day visit to Copenhagen. It was £32 for 2 nights!! Firstly a fab price!!!

The only thing upon booking that put me off was we were due to share a room with 4 other girls. I was extremely nervous for this.

Upon arriving, we arrived in Copenhagen around 8am. Check in wasn't until 3pm and to us was extremely inconvenient however we phoned up the hostel and they told us they had lockers in which we could use to store our luggage before check in and we spent the whole day at the Zoo which was the most amazing place and we only ended up checking in at around 7pm. We stored our luggage down where the lockers were however every single locker was broken and so we took our valuables with us and left everything else there. It was still all there when we got back. To get to the locker room and showers we had to walk through a very horrible part of the hostel and we instantly thought our stay would be horrid but how wrong were we!!!

Checking in was very easy. We filled out forms and they gave us both 2 keys for our rooms with locker keys on them also. (You are not allowed to leave the hostel without giving your key in to reception). We had to pay for our rooms there which was a surprise after having to enter our bank details upon booking, we thought they had already taken the money. This left me short in cash for my trip (So take extra money guys!!!). They lady at the desk was extremely helpful though. We dragged our luggage back up the stairs and found our room!

The room was extremely basic, 4 beds (2 sets of bunk beds) and didn't look like much at all. Someone had already come in the room and had left their luggage. It was stifling hot in there but there were 2 fans which really helped. There were not many plug sockets which was a pain when sharing with other girl but we worked this out between us. The mattress was covered in stains and I did not bring any bed sheets with me as I needed to travel light and was told at reception that I had to purchase to borrow some if I didn't have any, however I kept quiet and used blankets instead. Nobody found out ;D
The room was very clean and some of the lockers didn't work but the others were fine for what they were used for. We stayed in room 3 which was right outside a toilet/shower which I was worried about in case I needed to get up to wee in the middle of the night as you do! There was also a tv but we never used this as we spent our days out.

There were many toilets and showers around. My friend and I used different showers to the ones that were opposite our room. We used the ones that meant we had to walk through the horrid part of the underground part of the hostel again. However it lead us to female showers which were in a big room with 3 in, separated by curtains. There was a lock on the door and nobody else around so me and my friend locked the door every time but we were able to shower together at the same time but in separate cubicals still with privacy. The showers were annoying in a way because you could not hold the shower to rinse your lower body however the shower opposite our room was different and did have this feature. There were 2 sinks in there also and a mirror. I had to walk back to my room every time with my dirty socks on because I forgot to bring slippers or flip flops so make sure you bring these with you!

There was a cafe looking area on the way to these showers just a few steps away from our room (under reception) with tables and chairs to sit and chill and also vending machines and a hot drinks machines which cost around 8 krona for a drink but we did not use this and got cold drinks and breakfast every morning from the market opposite and the coop shop around the corner. 

There was very good wifi with brilliant signal which could be accessed in any part of the hostel, including our room. 

We ended up sharing with a lovely Italian girl the same age as us and it wasn't awkward in the slightest, even though the beds were so close together. She was so lovely. We shared the plug sockets between us and everything worked out perfectly. We did not end up sharing with a 4th person so there was a spare bed unused. 

There was breakfast available at a price but we opted not to take this as the choices looked limited and there was an amazing fresh food market opposite. Great for any dietary requirements! My friend was vegan and she found many meals available. 

The lady chef at the hostel offered to fill up our water bottles when we needed water and we were so grateful. Other times we used the tap water from the toilets as this seemed to be drinkable also however the sinks were small and it was hard to get a bottle under the tap without flooding the bathroom. 

Check out was just as easy and was at 11am. We did things in reverse and put our luggage in the locker room as our flight home wasn't until 7pm. All we had to do was give our keys in and say "check out" and it was done. We picked our stuff up later on in the day and went straight to the airport. There is also metro stations literally a 2 minute walk away. 

Overall we had a fab stay here. Met a lovely girl who we shared a room with. Had great wifi, had lovely staff looking after us and the basic needs when staying in a place, a place to sleep (which I slept really well and the bed was very comfortable with a large pillow) clean and a good place to shower for such a cheap price and for the location of the hostel was absolutely amazing.

The only bad points like listed above were...
Plug sockets
Stains on mattresses 
Not great food choice
Parts of hostel looked scary, dark, damp and abandoned but no one stayed in that area it was only a walk through.

We had an extremely pleasant stay here and I would stay here again. After being so scared to stay here after I booked I would honestly say don't let the pictures put you off like it did us because for the price it was definitely more than worth it!

What a fantastic holiday we had!!!

Great for a cheap stay!!!

We stayed here for a few nights as the location is very good and the hostel was pretty well priced.
You have to pay extra for bedding and towels.
Hostel gets very hot at night. We had fans going in the room but you can’t leave the window open as it opens onto the street and anybody could just enter. It was also very busy outside and lots of weirdos around.
Lockers in the rooms with a lock. Don’t fit a small suitcase but ok sizing otherwise.
Beds were comfortable enough. Pillows thin.
One shower amongst many...not ideal but we made it work. A few toilets which was good.
Staff were nice.
Had some lovely travellers in our room bar one who was a psycho and woke everyone up late at night and then proceeded to strip naked in front of all. But can’t blame the hostel for that one ;p

Average and well priced

I stayed in the hostel part for one night with 9 friends.

I usually try to see the positives in everything so this is my realistic review of this place, pros and cons and just the facts:

- it's a hostel and a hotel but I'm reviewing the hostel part.
- there are quite a few rooms with different amount of beds and also only girl, boy room or mixed.
- we couldn't stay in the same room together and I was in an all girl room with one friend and two girls we didn't know.
- you need to make your own bed with the linen provided by the reception. There are no free towels but you can rent one from the Reception.
- there is enough toilets and showers although busy times  you might need to wait a little bit. I found both the toilet and shower facilities fine considering the place itself - they were clean, pressure was fine and the shower was quite spacious.

Positives:

LOCATION: 5* - very central, very close to the Metro and also to the amazing food market where we had lunch on the first day and breakfast on the second. Prices are normal on their level and the food is great with lots and lots of choices.

LOCKERS: As it happens, we arrived too early so we had to store our bags in lockers. I put it as a positive as it's a great option to have but I have to say, going down all the way to the basement area and store our bags in these very basic lockers did feel a bit frightening at first. We knew to bring our own lock so it was all good and at the end of the day it was only our bags that had to stay there and not us so all fine. We were allowed to leave our bags there the next day once we checked out but went to sightseeing.

CLEANLINESS: Considering some parts of the building it was actually clean - toilets did smell a bit funny but still clean and also the rooms.

SERVICE: all staff we spoke to was polite and check-in and out was quick.

Negatives:

ROOM AND BED: Firstly it was extremely hot in the room, I would say at least 28-30C. And while there was a window since we're on street level we didn't want to leave it open. There was also a fan but you don't want it to be on all night. Also, there are no steps to the upper beds but a ladder is provided in the room. It was just very inconvenient considering we went out while the two strangers were sleeping when we got back. You shouldn't really care that much in a hostel but still... Our room was also tiny, very uncomfortable for 4 people. On the positive side, you do get a locker with a key where you can - and you should - leave all your stuff.

All in all, I wouldn't stay here again, not in the hostel bit. I felt really uncomfortable especially in such a small place with strangers - I know that is what a hostel is about but I stayed in hostels before and I didn't feel so uncomfortable with strangers in the same room. And while the place as a whole is clean and quite nice with social areas it was not for me. I guess the fact how much you like it or not depends on your past experiences and priorities as well. I guess I just expected a better value from Denmark.

This review is realistic - and a review of the hostel part not the hotel

The location is truly good, quite close to the centre: Parliament, Tivoli amusement park, etc., is up to 20mins by walk. There is a park with greenery and pond just behind the building, skati g park and place for great and cheap food just outside of the entrance.
This place has two facilities in one building, hotel and hostel. I was staying in the hostel. The place looks pretty nice and clean, but the hostel was not that good. I've been to cheaper and better in Copenhagen. The hostel is on the basement level, tight space and the showers are even deeper down the basement, where you can easily get lost. Women shower had two separate cabins and one of them was big with like 4 shower heads (talking about privacy :D). The bunk beds where not the best too,  there were no ladders and people were scared to get on the upper beds. But other than that all was good.

The hotel is easy to get to and pretty close to everything you might want to experience in Copenhagen. It is one of the cheapest hostels you can find from the city. 

The rooms were clean and there were  showers in our dormitory room. There are extra showers in downstairs as well. My mattress was thin and I felt it while I was sleeping. 

As a customer I did not find that the staff was interested in my experience or very eager to tell about the city. The good thing is that there should be service 24/7 so you can leave your room key and the key of the locker to the reception. They have warm water for free!

Cheap

Excellent location within a few minutes walk of Norreport metro and train station. Plenty of eateries nearby including a large covered market with good selection of cooked food under cover. 
We booked a hotel room with a private bathroom and, for the price, were satisfied with what we got.  
The room was spacious but the en-suite was pretty small. 
The shower was a small but functional cubicle that would have been too small for anybody "larger-than-average". 
The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was a good 8 out of 10, with a selection of cold meats, cheese, rolls, cereals, yogurt, fruit etc. 
Bearing in mind that the main purpose of a hotel in a city centre is just to sleep in, you can't do much better than the Jorgensen. 
If we were to return to Copenhagen, which we certainly intend to do, this hotel would definitely be the first choice for overall value for money. 


Location, Location, Location!

Reviews about this hostel seem to be quite ambivalent so I'll attempt to provide some clarity. The main thing to note is that it is cheap, so you cannot expect a 4/5* hotel. It isn't the cleanest hostel, and it doesn't have the nicest smell. But, it does the trick if you're looking for a cheap place to put your head down in the night and explore the city during the day. For the location is excellent, situated in the heart of the city and  surrounded by food places. The staff were helpful, and there are enough toilets and showers available so we didn't have any problems with that. There is a communal area to eat on the ground below reception which was handy. My main tip would be to ask for a room as close to ground level as possible. The lower down you get, the worst the smell is. We stayed in room 3 and were fine, although it did get quite stuffy despite the two fans in the room. Thankfully there was a window! Also, if you have room in your bag then bring some bed linens as the hostel requires you to rent theirs if you do not have any (it doesn't cost much if you do rent, but still). Overall, it's not a bad place for the price you paid...just don't go there expecting luxury as you will be disappointed.
