Great two days

We stayed here on night during our biking trip around Bornholm. We arrived late in the evening with the ferry but this place is literally 2min from the ferry, and self-check in went super. Room was good, and the common livingroom was also cosy and had a little self service minibar. The hotel has a fantastic little garden where you can also sit in good weather. Breakfast next morning was very good, and staff was friendly. Overall a very good stay!

It was a pleasant stay, and very accessible to everything restaurant-and shops.   bus stops are literally outside the hotel.It is 5 mins walk from the ferry.the staffs are friendly and welcoming. The food was typical danish breakfast. The room was also okay clean. 
I will definitely not hesitate to choose this hotel when ever I come back to Bornholm. 


Cosy and nice stay 

We were bicycling and stayed here two nights. We had a really nice room looking on the garden. The owner helped us take care of our bikes in a safe place and gave us good ideas for cycling in Bornholm. I liked the breakfast and the location close to several restaurants (try Selma's!) so this was a very enjoyable place.

I fell in love with Bornholm during my visit, and the Sverres Hotel was a great base from which to explore the island.  If arriving or departing by ferry, it's literally a five minute walk from the ferry terminal.  Buses to all parts of the island stop practically outside the door, there's a great supermarket round the corner, and the centre of Roenne is a short stroll up the road.  The hotel also has a beautiful, secluded garden, with plenty of places to sit and relax.

My room was clean and bright - if you look at the photo of the hotel on this page, my room was the two large windows at the front, plus the first window at the side (room number 4), which I'm told at one time used to be a bar.  Breakfast is served in the room directly above - a nice selection of breads, cold meats, cereals and yoghurt.  They even have an "honour system" fridge with bottles of wine, beer and soft drinks.  10Kr for a bottle of beer is a complete bargain!

I only have some very minor niggles, but you do have to bear in mind that this is a small, family-run hotel, and not an impersonal chain.  I would have liked to see a hair dryer in the room, although maybe there would have been one available if I had asked - it wasn't a huge deal, so I didn't bother asking.  Also, in this day and age we all seem to drag huge amounts of electronic devices around with us on our travels (or maybe it's just me!) - I would have liked easier access to power points to charge the phone, tablet, camera etc., but I made do by unplugging a lamp from an extension lead.  Again, not a huge deal, but an easily-accessible multi-socket extension lead would have helped. 

But while on the subject of technology, there is great wifi available in the hotel.  Get the password from the noticeboard outside the breakfast room.

All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, in fact, I'm considering another visit in late summer!

Perfect location and a lovely, relaxing place to stay.

Con: If you are unlucky as I was (despite reserving 6 months in advance and for a long stay) and end up assigned to a room that faces the road, you will experience noise as if you had stopped your car on the expressway and opened all the windows. Trucks, buses, huge tractors all  blowing past your windows- its so astonishingly loud that it’s surreal. Dreadful. 
Everywhere are signs (as if in a cranky grandparent house) telling you what you can/should/shouldn’t do. “Put your chair back”, “be courteous and use a towel” (still don’t know what that meant). “ Close the door”, “no luggage here” and on and on. In some spaces over 4 instructional signs. It’s oppressive. The rooms aren’t cleaned, even the garbage emptied, unless you personally beg to the owner. The towels are skimpy and the bedding is some odd gray polyester- not at all nice. 
Pros: close to the ferry- about a 5 min walk. Grocery store right across the street and easy walking to all the restaurants shops. Tourist agency and great bike rental within a 3 min walk. Refrigerators for guest use- very helpful. A lovely garden to sit in. Breakfast is the usual ( unfortunately a tv always on) and is nicely displayed. Rooms are of decent size.
If somehow you can get a guarantee of an upper back room (rooms 11, 12, 14) it will be quiet and you have the view of the garden. Then if you can live with all the nagging signs and rules your stay will be ok. 

Horrendously noisy and oppressive atmosphere

Me and my partner are not that fussy about cleanliness, but this place was just nasty! The beds and linen are okay, but the rest is horrible. Spiderwebs in the ceiling, a shower curtain that should’ve been changed years ago, mould in the bathroom and a coffee machine with filthy stains all over. We even found a hair band with someone else’s hair in our bathroom! 

The breakfast is hardly worth it and the coffee is the absolute most tasteless I’ve ever had. 

There’s no reception at the hotel and don’t expect to get too much help from the manager, rude Rudi! Also, there’s no luggage room. You can leave your bags in the hallway, but know that anyone can come through the entrance and take them. 

The only good thing is the garden of the hotel, a nice place to relax.
