Siskuna Lodge provided us with an enchanting Ecuadorian experience.  Beautiful birds, flowers and a great room.  We stayed in Suite 1 with a huge bed, spacious shower and cabinetry that I would love to recreate at home.   No complaints about the food; especially the vegetarian options.  Siskuna Lodge makes a great jumping off point for terrific immersive experiences in and around Mindo.  Ziplining over the cloud forest canopy, multiple butterfly forests, hummingbirds that will eat from your hand, hiking, and more.  One of my all time favorites!

A Nature-Filled Happy Place

Stopped here for lunch during our two day tour of Mindo. The outdoor restaurant is surrounded by beautiful flowers and Hummingbirds. My kids got milkshakes which were excellent. Entrees included chicken with passion fruit sauce and grilled trout with lemon sauce. The trout was over-sauced in my opinion and would have been better with less but it was still tasty. The plantains were a bit on the dry side but overall it was a good meal for the price.

Lovely spot for lunch amid tropical flowers and Hummingbirds 

We only spend one night there, but it's really nice place to stay longer. Very pretty bungalows. rooms are simple, but very clean. All property is lovely, full of flowers, colorful. Great swimming pool and very good restaurant.

Beautiful pool!

The hotel delivers excellent value for the cost.  Compared to international ratings, I would assess it as an above average medium level hotel.  The rooms, public areas, restaurant, pool etc are all immaculately maintained.  Very clean and well cared for at all times.  The couple who own it and run it are unfailingly polite and responsive.  All the staff are friendly and helpful.  An outstanding feature are the beautiful plantings which create the feeling of a little oasis.  The plants are so well cared for they run the risk of looking fake - a huge amount of care is evident.  It would be great if some of the plants had their names displayed.  
We had a "suite" by the pool.  Suite seemingly meaning a larger room with its own little patio.  Perfect for families who have children wanting to play in the pool and the adults could relax in one of the two jacuzzis.  The staff do an excellent job of managing jacuzzi times.  They also do close the pool area down promptly at 9pm - and this reduces the noise level immediately.  Great location - again for families or those wanting to be close to the little shops and restaurants.

Based on value for amount paid - great family stay option

Stayed only one night at Sisakuna Lodge while on a whirlwind tour of the country.  Beautiful hotel with amazing birds and flowers.  The rooms are individual cabins with a hammock chair on the front porch which was a great place to relax and listen to the birds.  Didn't give it a try but the pool and hot tub looked very inviting. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were both delicious and the staff was very nice and helpful.  The location in town is good too - easy walk to everything.  Will stay here again when I revisit Mindo!

Lovely Hotel with beautiful surroundings

I had an opportunity to spend several weeks at la Sisakuna. Very comfortable and clean rooms, extremely friendly staff that cater to all your necessities and let you know that you are at home. Lovely dining hall and dining services include a great menú for all types of tastes, and most of all, they will cater to any special requests. When I am in Mindo, Sisakuna is HOME :-D Highly recommended... your paradise awaits you!

Tropical Bliss

Really warm people, Amada, Giovani, and the staff are excellent hosts! The bar has really good cocktails and the rooms are perfect! I've been using Sisakuna for all my photography tour groups for over 2 years now and not once have I faced any issues. If you are in Mindo, Sisakuna is the place to be!

Home away from home!

If you love birds, butterfly's, flowers and rivers hotel Sisakuna is for you. Super friendly staff was very helpful and the chef is excellent.  Best trout ever. Facility is very well maintained.  You will love it.

Bird Lovers Paradise

My friend and I stayed here for four nights in early December while on a birding trip. Our guide recommended this as a step up from the place we had originally booked, since I was ill and wanted a place with a restaurant on site. The owners and staff couldn’t have been nicer. The rather basic but adequate cabins face onto a central dining area with flowers and bird feeders, which attract some surprisingly nice birds of the area. The food was decent. I really enjoyed the quinoa soup; much better than it sounds! The staff provided us with take-out breakfasts for our early morning birding expeditions and were up before 5 to make coffee for us each day, though the official restaurant hours only began at 7:30.
The only caveat is that if the lodge was full it could be very noisy. The cabins have no sound-proofing. Luckily it was fairly empty when we were there. 

Oasis in town

Mindo is a beautiful place to do water activities. It's terrible when you come back all wet looking to have a warm shower and cannot do it at any time because the hotel doesn't have warm water at the shower. All the beauty of the hotel was shadowed by this. I wouldn't come back to the hotel.
