Not on our planned itinerary but car breakdown meant we had to stay at this motel.

We arrived late and very stressed to be greeted by Romain who was super! 

Checked in easily and were relaxing with a beer and decent food and chatting to Romain, the manager who was very friendly.

Small but really nice wine selection.

My partner was over the moon in the morning when she asked “ou’est le tabac” to the housekeeper… who went off and gave her some ciggies in a little tin.

Had to wait a while for a taxi at checkout, kids were tired and the staff then gave them loads of little books and pens to play with.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.

Very friendly staff, great breakfast

Had already booked this totel 1 year ago, but was cancelled due to Covid at that time.
Location is great as close to the highway. Unfortunately no re3aturant on Saturday and Sunday but got gooid advice on where to go. Exvellent breakfast selection. Rooms might need some refurbishment but bed was wonderful.

First stay

Travelling back from the Czech Republic home the Campanile is very near the motorway, has it's own restaurant and a few more restaurants within walking distance. As the hotel has staff on site during the day and evening it makes it easy for the traveller. 

Good location for travelling

Staff attentive and polite, room very clean and comfortable with Tea/coffee TV and good shower.
Food basic but fair value and choice, ideal for a couple of nights or stop over. Secure parking and quiet location.

We had multiple problems with our 2 day stay at this Hotel Campanile; no ground floor room as requested on booking (later commuted to a disabled room with twin beds), 'problem technique' affecting the food available (we think this meant 'no chef'') and trying to overcharge us.
However, the staff were friendly and did their best (?) though on the saturday we were the only residents allowed a hot meal which turned out to be a monster, at least 8 egg, omlette and a mountain of frites that beat us both. 
They were aware that we were not happy and offered a 'cadeau' of extra wine in the carafe.
If this way again we'll try the local Ibis.

This is a basic hotel which we knew in advance. The young girl at reception was welcoming and spoke good English. The car park was adequate. The room was very small with a desk and a bed. The bed was not very comfortable and there was only one bedside table. The bathroom was very small and there were only 2 bath towels and no hand towels for hair washing. There was only one small waste bin in the whole room. 

Breakfast was an extra €9.90 per person and had a fair choice but not brilliant. 

We had dinner there but the menu was difficult to understand. I ordered a starter and then lasagne. However they both arrived together but the starter was completely wrong. The waiter did not understand and was quite rude. He did replace the starter and it still wasn’t the same as pictured on the menu and I had to eat it after my main course. I would have liked a small dessert such as crepe brûlée or chocolate mousse but it wasn’t allowed.  You could ONLY have a buffet of desserts for €9.90 which was far too much and ridiculous. 

Yes you get what you pay for but I probably wouldn’t choose a Campanile again.

Well know hotel chain in France. Simple rooms, but clean, free wifi.
Standard breakfast and quite good food in hotel restaurant for dinner.
In this hotel chain is always good that you know what you can expect. I have stayed in few other Campanile hotels and this one was in line with my expectation.
Good for short business trip (1-2 days).
Good value for money.

Reasonable hotel chain

We checked in to the Campanie hotel at Charleville Meziers on 19 Ocober 2016.
Both doors into our room stick very badly and had to be heavily pushed.
No longer any hairdrier in the rooms it seems.
We were first in to dinner at 7 pm and were told in no uncertain way that omelettes were not availablle ..even though they featured strongly on the main menu.(where is it .possible to visit in France and not obtain an OMELETTE......???
The light switch in the bathroom is well below wash basin level and one has to hunt to find it.I have travelled the world and never seen anything as iser unfriendly as this .
We were astonished to find the bread served was not fresh.When the meal was finished the head waiter merely took our remains and tossed them by hand on to the bread supply to be served to other customers.
For many years my wife and I have been Campanile customers.No Longer!

As a regular campanile user over many years

We spent ons night in the hotel. The room is functional but somewhat faded. The whole complex looks like it good use a paint job.Also the room was noisy. Both from other guests under us and from traffic. The price is good but Thats about all I can recommend.
