In these COVID times we wanted a location that was small and not a central location,  this met our needs 100%. On a golf course,with wonderful views of Angouleme which was a 10 minute drive to the centre Great pool to chill after a drive from the channel, hosts booked a restaurant which was excellent. Breakfast was in a serve yourself kitchen, ok but a little limited in choice would return again

Excellent location for overnight stop

Almost impossible to find, the owner guided us in by meeting us in her car!  The directions should mention that it is near Golf d'Angouleme. 

Beautiful setting, in the countryside, with amazing views of the city.  Rooms large, clean and comfortable, lovely pool, great breakfast.  The owners and their dog were very friendly.

Worth finding!

Whilst driving through France heading for Spain we knew we needed to stop for the day I booked this room in the car on booking.com. Although the sat nav took us straight to the hotel it wasn’t clear where it was,ending up in a drive around the block, that’s where the negative ends, Barbara a charming lady opened the gate to reveal her home and the accommodation. Situated on the edge of the golf course with  views of the town on the other side this is a beautiful location. We were shown rooms and opted for the ground floor room, it was spacious with rustic charm, unfortunately due to the weather we were unable to sit outside for breakfast but we would like to return in sunshine to enjoy that experience. 

Last minute booking

Though the place is relatively far from downtown it has a very quiet ambiance. Big garden, pine trees, flowers and a decent size of pool.
The rooms are in an old, traditional stone house, better choose one on the first floor than downstairs.
The room was big enough with great view to the city and the garden. The whole place has a countryside feeling where you can release the whole day of travel, sightseeing :)
Bathroom is small but comfortable.
The owner is friendly and their dog also very cute and playful.
Breakfast is French, coffee, croissant, jam some sweets and bread. But enough for a good start of the day.



Great view 

You won't find amenities such as tissues and hairdryers here, but what you will find is Barbara, an absolutely charming host, and her very friendly dog, Ixo.  We were in Golf room which was appropriately decorated with golf related items.  Very cosy room with the bathroom upstairs.  Weather was not good, but can imagine that on a warm and sunny day the location would be perfect with wonderful views over nearby Angouleme.  Barbara recommended a restaurant for dinner which was excellent, and her breakfast very acceptable.

Wonderful dog ...

The property was very hard to find and poorly signed.  On first impression it all looked very charming and we received a warm welcome.  Our room was situated on the first floor and up a very narrow, dark staircase.  There were no frills but it came up to an acceptable standard.  Breakfast was on a self service basis and was adequate.  We had dinner at the Golf Club just up the lane which was fun.
Overall this place did not come up to our expectations we had booked again on our return journey but decided that we could fine somewhere  better and cancelled.

Rustique

This B&B is hard to find. Could use a big sign on the outside. Reception when knocking: "couldn't you use the (invisible) bell?" Very nice view over Angoulême. It lies in a big garden (still needs some work) which would merit some places with chairs to enjoy. Swimming pool still empty. Be very careful not to bump your head when shaving in the bathroom.  

Still needs some changes

Shockingly poor value for money .The Madame was charming but that could not make up for the truly pathetic attempts to provide accomodation for 100 euros per night .The furnishings belong at the dump.The mini kitchen was a resting place for outdated appliances which were plainly the owners ancient cast offs .The kichen sink was filthy it had not  seen bleach in very very long and little sponge beside the sink was brown with muck .The room was spartan in extremis ..no ceiling just the floor above and when its occupants arrived we were subjected to every step and every word .The pool was filthy .No tv no radio no clock the WC and bath were cramned under the stairs no shower..cobwebs and dust in abundance ..the breakfast was edible and basic ..the place is worth 40 euros a night ..you will do much much better elsewhere ...see our reviews of Chateau Maumont and Les Hauts de Chalonne .When u see the inside of the owners kitchen you realise shes ripping guests off big time with her exorbitant prices .. Never again .
