We wanted to stop-over somewhere in a region that we had not visited before and we chose Barbaste after some internet research.
We found the Moulin de Larroque a short, easy drive from the autoroute and were welcomed by the owner Jean-Phillipe Guitton and his charming wife.
We were shown to a very comfortable family-sized room with a superb bathroom en-suite.
The mill is undergoing restoration but all the facilities were very smart. There is a fabulous spa which guests can use for an extra charge. We did not have time to sample its delights, but after a long journey, the spa would be a great place to relax and un-wind.
We were directed to a fabulous restaurant in Barbaste, built into the side of a small rocky mountain which had once been a fortified mill!! Le Moulin des Saveurs is well worth a visit, both for its excellent cuisine and its unique location.
On our departure after sadly only one night, we had a delicious breakfast to see us on our way North to England.

Flying Visit to Barbaste

This is a small B&B,  in an old moulin not far from Barbaste.. Beautifully restored by the owner.
The bedroom was big and decorated with taste and very comfortable.. Very modern bathroom with a walking shower.

There is an indoor pool with spa, ham man and sauna. Unfortunately we could not use it as it was booked whilst we were there( it can be booked by local people and it is for your private use  for 1.45 hrs)  .If you plan on making use of it, I would recommend booking at the time of your bedroom reservation.
The only thing I would have liked to have, was tea and coffee facilities in the room, apart from that everything was perfect.

Very Comfortable and peaceful B&B

Nice setting, lovely couple that run it who are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms also have a boutique feel, but are actually quite basic in many ways, with few of the facilities you'd expect at this price (4-5 star) and there are few facilities included in the price.  For example breakfast is extra as is use of the pool and spa area.  This is unfortunate as the location is fairly remote and there not many nearby attractions.   

I think it the hotel is quite new, or newly refurbished and I wish them well. But would suggest the following to attract new and returning visitors:
- reduce prices by about 15-20%
- include breakfast in the price
- put a few more basic facilities in the larger rooms 
- include use the pool for residents, at times when no one else has booked it

With these small adjustments I would be happy to return and recommend this venue to others.
