The site is beautiful on the edge of a forest. It is situated just outside the small town of Chantonnay. To access the site a car is necessary. The site itself is very quiet, especially during the day. It is a good stop over place for one of France's key tourist attractions: Puy du Fou The accommodation is spaciously laid out which is in contrast to many of the campsites we have visited over the years. We stayed there for 3 weeks and enjoyed a swimming pool that at times was like our own private one. There is also a tennis court and access to many local walks in the area. 

The price is good value for the accommodation and amenities. These include organised activities in the evenings. The staff are most welcoming and friendly. Wi fi is free in the bar area, but is charged for if used in the accommodation areas.

We had a great stay and will be back next year.

Good, quiet, basic accommodation.

Driving north from a holiday in Northern Spain we decided to break the journey with a few days at the Village Vacances de Chantonnay and I have to say we enjoyed every moment.

Our two bed-roomed bungalow was spacious, clean and contained everything we needed for our three night stay. 

The village is big on its environmental credentials and has achieved ISO 14001. This is amply demonstrated by the village and its surroundings.Each semi-detached bungalow is separated by tens of metres of wild flower strewn grassland the comes alive with the humming of bees and other insects. I don't think I've ever seen so many dragon flies at one time.

The bar/recreation area was open every day until midnight and had entertainment every evening.While wifi was available in each bungalow for a small fee, the wifi in the bar was free.

The heated pool and paddling pool were clean and open every day from 10.00 until 20.00. Our children made the most of this when we were on site and often wouldn't leave until a member of staff came to lock the gates at about 20.15

The village was just 15 minutes drive from the Puy du Fou and 40 minute from Le Sables d'Olonne.

Wonderful location

Never again sorry but the service was non existent. Umpteen phone calls to reception including the emergency number which was a recorded message just to get sheets and towels that were not supplied. We gave up and went out and bought some! The bungalow walls so thin that you could hear "everything" going on next door to you!!l area beautiful, lake nearby and picnic area, close to Chantonnay are the only good points worth talking about! Oh and another thing the club house and bar shut were shut the whole week we were there and only opened for a private party!!

Never again.

I stayed here for 2 nights in August as I was attending a wedding nearby. I arrived with my mother who is quite disabled at around midday in a taxi. the office was closed for lunch and did not open till 14:30. We were really thirsty, the bar was also closed. Some other guests gave us some juice, which was very kind of them. There is no shop in this 'village'. it took us ages to get our keys at 14;30 as there was only one member of staff. She was clearly a student and this was her holiday job. There was no senior staff. 

After the first night, a terrible odour started filling the chalet. There was clearly a problem with the drain under the toilet. Another student/staff member gave us a spray but this was ineffective. There was no handyman and no manager to deal with the problem, only the students who were perfectly friendly but seemed to be completely on their own. There was no free chalet for us to move to so we just had to put up with it. We were glad to leave.
