This is an extremely cheap hotel. We paid just 39 euros for a room to sleep three people and two dogs, so there's only so much you can reasonably expect. The room was clean, the sheets were clean, the showers and toilets were shared amenities outside the room, as in most hostels. So far, so low-cost.

What made this into a really good experience for us was the staff. They were friendly, smiling and helpful from start to finish. We had actually had our car break down on the motorway close to Chalon-sur-Saone and, with two dogs and a reluctant and difficult insurance company, we were stressed and worried until we found the F1 hotel. 

They took the two dogs for just a 5 euro fee, answered our questions; the following morning, we had an all-you-can-eat breakfast for just 3 euros, the lovely Michelle in reception said that the insurance could call her and leave messages for us, she didn't charge us for a slightly late checkout despite the fact that we had created extra work for her. 

Comfort and luxury are not high on this place's list of attributes, but the customer service set them apart.

Cheap and Distinctly Cheerful

Not expecting much as friends warned me off this chain but have to admit I've had worse nights in more expensive places. showers and toilets are shared, hostel-style and are not a pleasant experience. But staff are friendly, beds are actually quite comfortable and the free wifi is very good. The worst aspect is noise - people come and go all hours and the walls are paper thin. So, arrive late, bring earplugs, sleeping pills and don't bother with breakfast (though at 3.50 it's cheap) and you'll survive the night having paid just 21.90€ in my case, for three people. 

As basic as it gets but clean if noisy

Pubic hairs in the bed, stained unwashed sheets, rooms smelling of smoke and incompetent staff need I say more!! Avoid go somewhere else we have formally complained to Ibis Group it was absolutely disgusting!!! Try the ibis hotel elsewhere in town at extra cost just don't go here.

Disgusting!!

bed stank strongly of cigarettes as did the corridor. Shared toilets with no washbasins so every guest's dirty hands touch the doors between the toilets and the rooms. Code for bedroom doors not keys so, if you can't remember numbers in the middle of the night and need the loo you'll need to take the sheet of paper with you and your glasses to read it. In morning, receptionist continually on phone so couldn't make a complaint. Look, just find another tenner and sleep somewhere else.

Just go somewhere else!

When we came around 11pm in June 2013 the room stunk, it was dirty and it was very very hot. Could not open window because there were a lot of musquitos.
Bed stuck also. The linnen were not fresh. I get the chills when I think about it.
Very bad experience.
