It is about a 15-20 minute walk from the train station. Very quaint on the outside and with a friendly staff.   The double bed room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom.  The bathroom seemed recently remodeled but was missing a shower head holder.  Having to do a hand held shower in a tub is a bit challenging.  Also, there were no outlets in the bathroom which didn’t make sense since a blow dryer is provided, but you had to do it in the bedroom.  If unable to add an outlet, maybe add a mirror in the bedroom.  

Other than that, a great value and location.  Would have liked to have eaten at their restaurant that appeared to have a crowd and good reviews.  

No frills, but clean

A very basic room and the curtain didn't go across half the window! The shower was pathetic. I chose the hotel for location and it was within easy walking distance of everything and quiet, but that's about all it has going for it. Like another guest who recently complained - I was charged twice. They responded to my first email asking for proof, but after sending that through - nothing!

Very disappointing

Where do I start, it was awful and so bad we did not feel safe enough to stay - I have never had an experience like it. I should've known something was wrong because over the few months since we booked the hotel failed to answer various emails.
I just wish we had not just relied on reviews from the booking site, but checked here and other places before we booked. When we got to the hotel, the room wasn’t ready and the hotelier said our three bank cards had been declined and he wanted us to go and get cash. We had heavy bags, the weather was in excess of 30 degrees and we'd been on the road for hours.
We have evidence that all our card companies confirmed no attempt to take payment was ever made. This raised big fraud concerns which my card company agreed with. The hotelier didn't appear to like that I called my credit card company rather than get cash out and started to talk over my call and made gesticulations. I had to raise my hand to ask him to stop.
Because the booking was guaranteed by credit card we felt sure he was trying to defraud us and get two payments (one in cash and one via Booking dot com). We've since discovered this sort of thing has happened before leaving customers out of pocket.
The hotelier was rude, arrogant and aggressive - stomping around, closing doors and rattling keys. He was utterly dismissive & rude when we asked if his card machine might be broken. It's always possible one card might not have worked, but an attempt to take money would have been visible by the credit card company and there was nothing to suggest an attempt had been made to get payment. But for three cards from three separate banks to ‘fail’ - all functional and with credit feels extremely dodgy. There hadn't been a problem with any of them before visiting this hotel and there wasn't after. The credit card company said there was no reason their end it wouldn’t have worked. 
The company we booked the hotel through have been useless when we called for help leaving us feeling very unsafe in this man's company, not least because of the hotelier's aggressive behaviour towards us. It appears the hotel has a long standing reputation for taking too much money, not having rooms ready, bed bugs and turning families away late at night from rooms already paid for - a simple internet search provides some horrendous experiences over a number of years. I’m surprised Dijon council hasn't closed them down to be honest.
We didn’t feel safe with this man, so we were forced to find another hotel - sadly three times the price, but the staff were lovely and actually opened up rooms they'd closed because of potential noise from a party. They were extremely shocked at how we had been treated.
I have absolutely no trust in this hotel. We would've been safer sleeping in our car. I just hope I never experience anything like this again.

Not a hotel but a nightmare

Disliked  · The room was appalling. It had not been updated since the 1970's. The bed was from the 1940's. It was very small and uncomfortable. The minimal 2 pillows had the thickness and support of a padded envelope. There was a delapidated IKEA drawer from the 1970's. There was no other furniture in the very small and pocky room. The was a carpet that very old and stained. In the bathroom the shower head was broken and there was no shower curtain.  The overnight temperature was 26c In the daytime it was 35+c. There was no cooling fan nor air conditioning in the room. There was no permanent or continuous reception service. Credit card bill falsified with incorrect amount. Unable to get response from Hotel

Worst Hotel room in 30 years

Overbook their hotel and then without any kind of message simply cancelled our reservation five hours before we were scheduled to arrive. No apologies, no help finding another room, just a cancellation confirmation.

We were celebrating our ten year wedding anniversary and due to the French train strikes our train to Tonnerre was cancelled so we had to spend a night in Dijon. Everything was booked out and there were only a few hotels with rooms available. We decided to stay here based on the hotel photos and description of it been ‘quirky’ and ‘charming’ as well as it been in the old part of town. Do not stay here, what you see in the photos isn’t what the hotel actually looks like. We booked a superior room and arrived late, we were very tired and didn’t realise we were  put in a standard room until after we had checked in and by this time reception was closed so we couldn’t change it. The room is tiny and dirty, the bed so hard it hurt my back and the pillows needed replacing a long time ago. The sheets had stains on them so I had to sleep in my clothes. The bathroom was even worse, mould in the shower, a dirty shower curtain, broken towel rack and a rusty sink tap not hygienic enough to shower in or drink water from. To top it off there were only 2 plastic cups, a couple of soaps and shower gel sachets. There was no fridge or basic coffee/tea making facilities. The adjoining restaurant was no better we didn’t have a reservation and were rudely and abruptly turned away. I understand we needed to book but we were unable to do so, a little bit of hospitality instead of hostility goes a long way. In short do not stay here stay or in Dijon there are much better places and nicer people.

The worst hotel we stayed in

The room is very basic for 85 euros 
Our bed was very uncomfortable 
Tiny and smelly old pillows ! I had to use a towel instead.
Also someone was having a party next door therefore we missed few hours sleep. 
No curtains in the room or in the shower.. 
few tires missing in the bathroom. Hairs on the floor dust everywhere. 
Basically everything looks old and filthy.
I have passed feedbacks to reception who could not care the less. The receptionist answer was “ this is the inconvenience when you live in the city, there is noise, I can’t ask the neighbours to avoid any noise ...
FYI we have been leaving in central London for 15 years without having any issues like that. 
He also guaranteed that the rooms and  bed sheets are cleaned on daily bases. Yet blankets were stained. 
It’s a shame that he just tried to defend himself and even didn’t bothered to come and have look at the room.


Never again 

Due to circumstances we had to cancel our stay. Free cancellation was included at the moment of reservation in Dec 2018. Money was already deducted from our mastercard in Jan 2019. 2 months after the cancellation in June we are still waiting for a refund.

Bad service

Not much to say really as nothing in room apart from bed , wardrobe, tiny tv and mouldy and cobwebs would never ever stay again or recommend this place to anyone even the hair dryer did not work and the towels I could see though them . Shame as it did look good on the website thank god it was just an over nite stay . 

Not good

We stayed here for one night in August, Our stay was ok good location and a typically basic french room, however the light fitting in the bedroom looked positively dangerous.  The main issue is that on returning to the UK I saw I had been debited twice for our stay.  Didn't think this would be an issue,  a mistake easily rectified when I pointed it out. NO after initially responding to my first email I can now get no response.  Not good enough.  I am now contacting my credit card company to dispute the payment.  If you must stay here pay CASH don't hand over your card details!
