The proprietors are friendly and very helpful.  They were very accommodating with our last minute booking and even invited us to dinner just 30 minutes before the meal was to be served. While we declined the offer and dined at a quaint local restaurant in the nearest town where it was difficult to find someone who spoke English (perfect). The surrounding vegetable and flower gardens are a beautiful place to stroll and enjoy some tea or take photographs at sunrise.  The breakfast consisted of homemade yogurt, fresh breads, jams, a variety of fresh cheeses and much more.  Just one day here was not enough.  So glad our road trip brought us here.  We hope to visit again.

Wonderful local lodging and garden

We absolutely loved our stop at Le Bien Venant. The place is gorgeous, full of charm and has been beautifully restored by its owners. The garden is a great size and everyone can find a quiet spot to relax, have a pic nic and enjoy a drink. We stopped there on our way back to England - a welcomed stopover for our young kids - and this place was great to explore the Baie de Somme area. We stayed in a quadrupuple room which was ideal for our family of 5 (including our toddler who slept in a cot bed). Good breakfast, clean premises, friendly welcome (the owners speak very good English). We will definitely come back!

Superb place to stop over to discover the Baie de Somme

Stayed here on our long journey home, as it's a handy hour and a bit from the Tunnel. It's our second stay and just as enjoyable. The owners will do anything to help and the rooms are spotless. Do take the opportunity to share an evening meal of local produce and veg etc from the owners own gardens at the back. It's a shared table with other guests and we had great fun giving our bit of French a go with very understanding Dutch, French and Brit families. Rooms are mezzanine (we asked for 3 beds) and spotless. You'll love it here...we will be back. Thoroughly recommended for a stop over, evening meal and brekkie. 

Great stop over on the way back to the Tunnel

After a long journey through France we used this hotel as a stopover, only 1hr 20 from Calais.

Domvast, a quaint village is 20mins from the A16. Le Bien Venant is a gem of a place, our own room with a double bed downstairs and twin single beds upstairs, ensuite bathroom and toilet.

We booked an evening meal, our wonderful hosts provided a large choice of home grown tomatoes and French bread. A local delicy of Mushroom & Crab wraps followed which we all enjoyed followed by more bread and a choice of 4 cheeses. Dessert was home made yoghurt with raspberries, all washed down with wine and friendly chat from our wonderful hosts.

Breakfast was plentiful, a choice of cereal, bread and French toast (recommended).

Marie and Christian made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be staying here whenever we are in the vicinity and would highly recommend this hotel to fellow travellers.

Stopover on our way back to England

This is a lovely place run by a lovely couple. However, we are very light sleepers so we had pre booked a quiet room. We asked for a twin bedded room and were given  accommodation that had a double bed downstairs (where the bathroom/wc is) and twin beds upstairs on an open mezzanine. ALL beds squeaked a fair bit as did the wooden staircase so when one of us moved the other woke up.  Couldn't go to the bathroom without waking the other person up. Also, the room was right on the edge of a road, and whilst the area is quiet any vehicle noise woke us up, An awful night's sleep, so we cancelled a booking we had made for the return trip. Back to the positives, if we were not light sleepers we  would definitely use the place again. Their breakfasts are very good indeed and once again, the people are really good/nice.
