Convenient site on a beautiful part of the coast. Nice clean well-organised site. All the facilities you could need and they were tidy and well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would use the site again.

Lovely campsite with great facilities

Last minute booking to meet up with friends. The site was all that it promised to be and more. Very professionally run and friendly. Close proximity to a wonderful beach around 10 minutes drive away and a good location to tour the island from

We only booked Camping La Brande at the last minute but it was fantastic value and a brilliant find. The site is friendly, clean and the facilities are really good. The restaurant food is excellent and the bar area is a lovely spot for a drink as the sun goes down. 

A great find!

Stayed here with my family for 11 days - and so happy that I chose this site (trying to get a late booking with C&C was impossible).
The pitches are large and I liked that we had a choice of places.
We didn’t use the children’s clubs at all, but they did all seem to be run well and safely.
The little bistro on site had good food and the little pizza takeaway was good value.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful - kindly lending me a jack for a mullered tyre!

They are not used to English visitors I think - most guests are French, some Dutch, occasional Spanish and Belgian and the odd German - however that’s great - make the effort to speak French and they appreciate it.

Only thing I would suggest for the whole island - put the cycle paths on an app..... that would be awesome.

The island is a little jewel - especially if you like seafood

Lovely French site

We visit La Brande yearly and love it.  This year we stayed for over three weeks.  It's laid back, well maintained, clean and the staff are extremely helpful.  It improves year on year and is full of French charm.  The pool is always spotless and the children love the slide.  The children's activities are action-packed and suit different age groups and adults can get involved too.  Evening entertainments are full of fun and prizes.  We stay in a Mobil- Home Prestige which is well equipped, has comfortable beds and is spotlessly clean on arrival.  We look forward to it every year.....  Thank you La Brande :)

A yearly must!

We have been coming to La Brande since 2003 but this was our first late season visit and it was quite magical. Quieter than in high season you can explore the Il d'Oleron in peace with temperatures still around 20 degrees. La Brande is a beautiful site with the heated pool open all day and heated showers. Perfect bliss. Thank you Monsieur Barcat!

The perfect site to enjoy Island Life

This is a lovely campsite and very family friendly. The pitches were good sizes, especially the ones towards the back of the campsite. The pool was excellent with sprinkler toys for little children as well as a small pool. The water slide and main pool was good for older kids and adults. It was also partly covered which provided shade from the sun which was good but also could be pulled all the way across if it rained.
The shower block was good and had good facilities for bathing your children. However, the water was quite often cold at the end of the day which was not nice. 
The campsite did have late entertainment going on a couple nights which was far too loud. It didn't actually go quiet till 1am which was far too late.
The campsite appears to have a lot of families that return each year and who all know each other. They would take it in turns to meet at each others tents near us and there would be a group of maybe 30 people. So it was very noisy. It also felt very cliquey and like we were the outsiders there.
But overall it was a nice campsite and well maintained and I would go back again.


Good campsite

Overall we had a good stay. The staff were friendly and reception staff spoke good english. Animations were only in french. Pitch sizes were excellent, shady with plenty of space for an 8m tent, car and our tables and chairs with space left over. The electric hook up had plenty of power for kettle, hair dryer etc. The pitch was mostly sandy, which wasnt great as it got everywhere

The pool was great, with kiddie area, shallow end, deep, water fun area and and a decent slide. Though it got a bit overcrowded at times. 

The toilet blocks were cleaned regularly, though at quite inconvenient times. Though they needed more attention to detail as certain out of the way areas remained grubby.

Nice place

Spent a week here. Camp not all open in April, but enough to make it work. On site restaurant definitely worth a visit. They do pastries every morning if you book, which are well with it. but Loads to do on the island, but be warned things close from 13:30 until 15:30. Great for cycling even for those that don’t really do a lot. Just undulating, and mostly cycling paths. Great if you like see food. Would definitely go back to the camp site and the island. Only down side is the bugs.... make sure you have spray.

Campsite was good , clean and tidy, friendly.The pitches are good size and well maintained . Good location for seeing the island because you are off the main routes and can avoid the traffic by using the back roads.
