We have spent 10 days in the Ancienne Maison des Gardes and to make it short: it was just lovely! First of all Rose & Robin are fantastic hosts who do their best to make their clients' stay as perfect as possible. The appartment was furnished tastefully with a lot of love for the details, everything fitted so well in this old and charming house, plus we had a  stunning view on the chateau. Robin never got tired to give us good and helpful advices where to go, what to see, which restaurant to visit. Perfectly located just in front of the village, with walking ways starting from the house and having the vignobles around - we will always keep our stay in best memory. Thanks a lot, Rose and Robin !

Wonderful place in Lourmarin!

Magnificent!! Rose and Robin are
lovely hosts, very welcoming, kind and offer local recommendations. Rose left us fresh apricots after our walk. Our balcony room was so quiet and peaceful. We slept through the market set-up, it was that sound proof! The Friday market was incredible, top notch selection of food, clothes, scarves, jewelry, linens, etc. Without hesitation, stay! The pictures don’t don’t do it justice. AC kept room cool. Fun town to explore. We hope to return!

Ideally situated at the edge of the bustling village of Lourmarin,  l'Ancienne Maison des Gardes has equal measures of comfort and charm.  Staying in the Studio gave us the freedom to enjoy the delights of the numerous restaurants in the village whenever we wanted but gave us the option of doing our own thing too.  No crowded breakfast buffet or constant sorties for drinks and coffee, just easy going relaxation with all our needs catered for.  The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped and Rose had provided all the basics plus the addition of a chilled bottle of rosé and and a bowl of fruit. Tastefully furnished with a comfortable bed, good sized shower and seating and dining area in the kitchen.  We also had our private area in the delightfully peaceful and shaded courtyard, surrounded by exotic plants and entertained by the acrobatics of swallows overhead.  Step out of the courtyard gates to the views of green countryside, the imposing chateau, and the stars of Lourmarin, the family of donkeys. We can't wait to return and continue our exploration of this amazing part of France.

The ideal base to explore the wonderful region of the Luberon

My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we will certainly return. It is a perfect location and the quality and standard of the accommodation is exemplary. Rose and Robin are delightful hosts.

Fantastic

I stayed three nights in La Petite Maison.  Very comfortable, spacious, well-appointed and clean.  I made percolated coffee and enjoyed this on the lovely terrace with the best views of lovely Lourmarin.  The view was extra-special in the evening with the lights of the chateau.  I would certainly return here and would highly recommend this beautiful accommodation.

Delightful stay

We stayed one night in Robin and Rose ´s Ancienne Maison des Gardes in Lourmarin. We are french but try to write in English. This was a perfect stay. Room is simple but perfectly clean and cosy. Bed is of high standard and breakfast is fantastically fresh and and excellent and gloriously served on the balcony. What else did we need ? Just nothing at all. And both our hosts are really nice persons.

Great value and charming host and hostess

Superb suite in the Salle de Musique with the biggest and best bed I have ever had. Rose and Robin were helpful and knowledgeable about the things to do and places to see. Lourmarin is a picture postcard village nestling below the beautiful Luberon mountains. Walking here is amazing. The courtyard of the main property is a lovely safe place for young children to mess round in.

Spring sunshine in Provence

We didn't select the best time of year to visit as it was extremely cold, but the apartment was warm and cozy, well-appointed, and decorated with charming antique furnishings. The owners, Rose and Robin were friendly and helpful and allowed us to bring our dog. The village is picturesque as well as some surrounding villages. We highly recommend a stay there. 

A Little Slice of Heaven in Provence!

Ancienne Maison des Gardes, Maison Rose, is situated in an ancient and beautifully restored village house in Lourmarin, a delightfully picturesque Provencal village offering a gateway not only to the wonderful Luberon, but also to the Alpilles and many other stunning regions of Provence. Day trips are possible to any of the perched hilltop and valley villages of the Luberon, as well as to the towns of Arles, Avignon, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Aix-en-Provence, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Cassis and the breathtaking coast. So many wonderful places to visit, and all within easy reach. 

One could not find a more perfect place to stay for a visit to Provence than Maison Rose. If driving, park your car close by the lovely Château de Lourmarin and stroll along to  the Impasse des Gardes, which leads to this gorgeous Chambre d'Hôtes,  large French grey doors opening to reveal a lush, large, private and shaded courtyard.

Beautiful, welcoming Rose Robson, and affable artist Robin Coombes are wonderful hosts. They offer a selection of suites and rooms, all beautifully furnished, and, importantly, all with the very best of comfortable beds and bedding, perfect living and dining areas, equipped holiday kitchens, so perfect for preparing fresh local produce from the fantastic Lourmarin markets that are held each Friday morning, along the plane tree lined avenues and all about the top square of the village.

Rose knows the area like an expert, and she loves to share her knowledge of places to visit, where to eat, weekly markets and how to get about, what's on and where. Lourmarin itself is a lively village, but it is also very tranquil. 

Staying at Maison Rose is like staying the weekend in private apartments at somebody's lovely home. We have now come to stay six times. One's stay may be as languorous or as busy as one wishes a sojourn to be under the beautiful skies of Provence, during any season of the year.

Perfectly Languorous Provencal Days at Maison Rose

Terrific apartment for my vacation.  Rose and Robin are wonderful owners/hosts.  The apartment was perfect for my set-up and day trips to the Luberon and 
Sud Luberon.  Not a bed and breakfast.  A solid apartment with kitchen, refrigerator, AC, and hot water in the shower.  A sound and terrific apartment.  I recommend for  the travelers looking for a apartment.  I was worried about parking..not a problem...there are a lot of free parking spots about Lourmarin within walking distance.

The ancient guard house is just right
