We stayed here on our return from the Canal du Midi in October it being a break before we went on to St Malo for the ferry.    I had been looking for somewhere close to a friend near Surgeres and I couldn't have picked a better spot. Au Bois Dormant is a beautifully renovated farmhouse in the middle of open green countryside.  Your host is Dominique, a delightfully attentive host with a quirky "English" sense of humour.  The rooms are impeccable, well furnished and with comfortable beds.  There are varying rooms and
the price differs according to the standard of the room.(They are all good).  Breakfast in the beautiful dining room was excellent. Incidentally, a couple also on their way to St Malo found it a good stopover from their holiday in Spain.  I only wish we had been staying for more than one night.

Fabulous Chambre d'Hôte

It takes some kilometers away from the highroad but you a beautiful quiet place, where you can park your car instead. The reception by the owner is in style. It helps to speak French and to appreciate his humor a master control of the french language is preferable. The rooms are outstanding. It is clear that the owners only go for perfection and nothing less. WiFi is also perfect. The breakfast is more than a pleasure with home made products. Our stay was short but very "chaleureux", very warm.

We stayed for two nights at the 'Au Bois Dormant' on our way to Spain, and I must say it was a very pleasant stay! We could have easily stayed a few days more, thanks to the very nice room we stayed in (traditional interior with modern comfort), the excellent breakfast, the nice environment (both nature as well as cities) and not in the least the very warm welcome of Dominique the 'landlord'.
Don't hesitate to spend a few days and nights at this place!
