We really liked the campsite, clean toilets and showers and helpfull staff. Nice swimmingpool and great activities (we joined the ‘degustation’ which was very nice. Also handsoap available at all the toilet blocks.

Great campsite and very nice staff

We keep on returning to Le Clos Fleuri because it offers us a quiet and very pretty environment with mature trees and shrubs. This year we stayed in a chalet, which was excellent but have camped in a tent. The washrooms have lots of hot water and are always clean. The owners, Christian and Marie Luce are friendly and very helpful. It is a lovely place to be if you want a restful environment, which is also close to the beaches of St George de Didonne and the long coastline and other interesting places. The campsite has a very good swimming pool, shop, football field and crazy golf - if you want to be active.

Beautiful, quiet country campsite

This campsite was well equipped with spacious, leafy pitches, with plenty of shade. Good sized swimming pool although the pool shower was out of action when we were there. Toilets and showers fine but not amazing, and as seems to be more common these days, communal shower blocks with toilet and shower cubicles. Location good, possible to cycle to the coast (St Georges de Dionne about 12 km away) but nice to be away from the crowds. Madame at reception gave us lots of useful information and tips about the local area, which led us to a beautiful fishing village called Mornac-sur-Seudre which is right on the oyster beds and lots of lovely seafood and fish available. It says it's 4* and cost 34 euros for 2 people, tent and car (no electricity) which we felt was slightly on the expensive side, and we don't think the facilities really justified the 4* but nevertheless we liked the site. Small restaurant and bar which was useful. We noticed that the price goes down to 18 euros outside high season so clearly we were paying a seasonal premium. Town of Saujon nearby best place for food shopping as Royan is really busy in peak season.

Nice campsite away from the crowds on the coast

This is a Nice camping with dedicated owners and lots of facilities. The atmosphere is relaxed and has a nature feel. Playground in the back could use a facelift. We would recommend the camping. Lots on top of the hill are nice.

This is our third visit to the site. We went with out children when they where young twenty years ago ,and wanted to return, we had just as warm a welcome as before ,and still love the site,so peaceful ,set in a woodland feel,it's just lovely.our only feeling wAs that ,some of the p,at things looked rather tired.but it was out so season,so maybe this was addressed . We will be back,it feels like home.the stephens family

Very quiet campsite when we were there - just 3 or 4 other pitches occupied - but what a welcome!  They were so warm and helpful it's made such a a nice introduction to camping for us. Pleasant wooded campsite, clean washblock (no soap) with facilities for dish washing and clothes washing, swimming pool and recycling, office selling ice creams, water, milk and bread deliveries every morning. There was no bar or restaurant (despite what the Michelin guide said) although I am not sure whether that perhaps only opens at the height of the season. Children might be a bit disappointed with the only small sandpit and very small "playground toys" that we saw but for us (couple in our mid-30s) - it was just perfect! 

Such a warm welcome

Le Clos Fleuri has so much in its favour.  The staff are helpful, the site is well located quiet and pretty, pitches are good sized. However, the shower/toilet block is very dated and frequently inadequate. The showers regularly lack hot water often luke warm at best.
There is a clear lack of investment in the whole site facilities particularly in the chalet accommodation and  sanitary toilet block.
It is such a shame because the site has enormous potential and appeal.
I would have recommended Clos Fleuri 10 years ago but regrettably not now.
After our last/final visit we left feeling sad at the lack of vision and aspiration.
