We found Le Boudoir du Faubourg when we were searching for a place to stay in Montauban whilst visiting some friends who live nearby. Knowing we only needed a B&B (because we intended to spend our time out and about seeing the sights with friends and family) we were nonetheless excited about our visit because of the fab reviews on this and other websites. 

Alan and Pierette are the welcoming owners of this establishment and took great care to ensure that we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. They spoke quite good English (they also have a go at speaking Spanish & German) and even helped me with my French. 

The rooms are beautifully decorated but be aware they are up a spiral staircase or two (or three if like us you get the room at the top of the building) although Alan kindly takes the luggage up and back down again. We were with Parents who are aged in their 70's and not the best of health but they managed just fine to get up and down so it should not put off most people. 

The breakfast is delicious and although simple not basic. You must try the homemade jam available daily. Fresh fruit is served beautifully each morning and is such a treat. 

Location is fantastic and near to the shops and there are loads of places to eat & drink within walking distance. The park is just around the corner and there is a local market that was fun to walk slowly through - wine available! 

We would certainly stay again when we go back to visit friends but in the meantime certainly happy to highly recommend.

Highly Recommend

This B & B is the work of a French couple who fell in love with the building and saw it as their opportunity to start the guesthouse they dreamed of.    The style is French shabby chic with emphasis on the chic.   It gets a bit fussy at times, but the effect overall is charming.    Our hosts were not able to meet us in person, but left our welcome in the hands of a very capable and pleasant young lady.

The rooms are comfortable and afforded us a good night's sleep.  Odd quirks of the building reflect its age and, to my mind, add to its character.   The stairs are set at an interesting angle, but seem secure enough (D.V.).

We met our hosts at breakfast - a very pleasant couple, but with limited English.   The breakfast itself was excellent. 

A delightful place to stay.

Delightful and charming B & B

We were attracted by the excellent reviews but did not appreciate that we had to climb 3 flights of stairs to reach our room. Although there was a handicapped car space immediately outside, it was (inevitably) occupied by an unbadged car but we were able to use the Boudoir's garage, behind the shops across the street. Breakfast was exceptionally good and the staff and proprietor were very friendly and helpful; the proprietor even rang me en route to ascertain our arrival time and arranged for someone to meet us.

Excellent - but not for the handicapped

The place is very hard to find as the signage is very poor and it located on a busy one lane nowhere to park road so you may need to drive round the block a few times I did five in all whilst my wife tried to raise the owners from the wrong side of a locked door even got the owner of the cafe opposite to ring but no look so we left  booked via Booking.com no mention of these difficulties.

Nobody Home

I looked forward very much to visit this B&B and was very disappointed. The reviews were fantastic but we had a very bad experience. We arrived in Montauban ( horrible backwards town) around 3 pm and had to wait until 6:30 pm to check in! The host did not answer his phone and we were left waiting in the street for a very long time. We considered driving to another village but everything was fully booked. Our breakfast consisted of bread and more bread, no cheese or cold meats. Just bread, jam and some strawberries. I would not recommend this place, poorly run and very unprofessional. This is the first negative review on our whole France trip.
