I stayed here in a single room on Friday then Sunday night. The location is excellent, minutes away from the beautiful cathedral and historic centre. The room was basic but clean and the price very pleasing. The delightful manager Jean-Christophe was super friendly and even remembered that I liked an extra pillow and had it waiting for me in my room on the Sunday night. If you want a fancy hotel, this is not for you but if you are looking for cheap and cheerful with a great location, then it’s a good choice.

Clean, basic room- excellent location, great value

I feel compelled to write after reading the reviews. I stayed here for a night with my partner & 4 kids on a stopover to the ferry.. Parking was tricky to find but we eventually did! The Receptionist & owner were
Fantastic! So helpful & friendly! Loved the art work around the hotel. The room was absolutely fine. Very clean and had 3 bunk beds & a double bed. Tv and tea making facilities. WiFi was fine too once connected and pacified the teens! Bathroom was ok. Shower did the job and nothing wrong with the towels! We had a gorgeous continental breakfast in the lounge area. Rouen was a complete joy and I cannot wait to go back again! The illumination show at the Notre Dame Cathedral was one of the most breathtaking things I have ever seen. Would definitely return to this hotel and the wonderful city.

Great stay in quirky hotel in gorgeous Rouen

Here's the thing about this hotel. The rooms are offered at a cheap price and there's a reason for that. We used it as a stop over & for that it was just fine. A hotel in the middle of town which is full of old town French character. The reception and small eating area is lovely but the rooms are very basic. That been said I had a fine nights sleep on a comfortable mattress. But the rooms are more Cell Block H then anything else. The towels are just slightly thicker the a decent kitchen roll and if you look closely you'll find cleanse issue, but thats what you are paying a low price for. Staff, top notch, all of them amazingly friendly and helpful. Had dinner in the restaurant they recommended which included a 10% discount. I think it was called No 37 but it's just down the road and the meal was just fab. Just a note on parking. It can be a bit intimidating trying to find the car park but head for the Opera car park and you can park all night for €15. Would I stay there again, yes. Would I use it for a romantic weekend, no but for a bit of character and something just a bit different.....I loved it!!

Not for a romantic weekend

Based on the price and the photos I saw, I assumed this hotel would be good. In reality, it was hugely disappointing. The rooms were unloved and unsuitable, the bedding was dirty and the fittings falling off the wall. The shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. But most annoying of all was the location - right next to a stop light which seemed to attract every moron in Rouen, who would sit with their car windows open, blaring music loudly ALL through the night. Which was even more annoying as the weather was warm and there was no air-con, so we had to keep the windows open. We barely got a wink of sleep.

Probably a nice hotel about 20 years ago

On the positive side, the location of this hotel is very good, at walking distance to the old town and cathedral.
On the negative side:
-No air conditioner or fan, we couldn’t sleep because of the heat. Probably better to avoid in the summer.
-No lift so not suitable for anyone who has trouble climbing floors with luggage.
-Reception closed after 8pm. We arrived shortly afterwords and we received the entry code only because we asked by email.
-We also asked for information to park our car and for breakfast but the hotel “did not see our email” and we got neither of the two.
-Parking very difficult on the street as there are only few places and many cars. 
-Second floor lobby looks like a building site.
-Room has no cupboard only a few hangers. 
-Only one little table on one side of the bed. 
-Kettle but no coffe/tea.
-Bunk bed for the kids very noisy when they turned around in their sleep.
-General feeling of limited cleanliness, strange spots on the bedsheets.
-Tiny bathroom, shower soap container empty.
-Wants to appear artsy, but in reality looks shabby.
Sorry, won’t come back.
