Not too get too poetic, but when you're sitting outside Aux Temps d'Em eating a delicious bowl of moules and frites with the sun setting on this lovely town's square, then life seems pretty good. We stay here regularly. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfy. Our hostess very welcoming and friendly.  A great place to break a journey.

A fabulously welcoming Hotel. We had an excellent meal (Steak). The bar is well stocked and is reasonably priced. 
The hotel is in a fantastic location, on the market place, looking out at a statue of Field Marshall Haig. The town itself is lovely and well worth a visit. I would recommend a stay.

A welcoming gem

Excellent, wonderful, superb..........a great find! Nice room - not huge, but clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar are superb. Daniel and all the other staff looked after us wonderfully, the service was great, and the food even better. Just what we were looking for after an eight hour drive up from South West France! We were sorry that we didn't have longer there, but we will return to this lovely hotel in a great and interesting town.

A wonderful find in a stunning town.

- From the moment we arrived Sylvie and Daniel were the most welcoming hosts!
- The hotel was perfectly situated on the main square with various shops, cafes and bars around, but was not noisy at all as it's a quiet town. Free and secure parking in the main square.
- The bedroom was clean, inviting and had everything that I needed
- The restaurant meal was superb! Highly recommend the mussels and chips. Wine was delicious, service was 10/10
- Breakfast the following morning was 10/10. Great choice, delicious food with a beautiful calm atmosphere. Daniel was the perfect breakfast host.
- I would HIGHLY recommend staying and eating here. Thank you Sylvie and Daniel for the perfect stay!! Your service is a masterclass on how to be an hotelier.

From my review of the reviews, I think people miss the point that not every hotel is run by a big company and most of the time it's about people trying to do the right thing. This hotel is great, the owners and staff are lovely and welcoming, rooms have fantastic views over the beautiful traditional square, food is wholesome, tasty and well prepared and a great place to explore the hidden treasures of this historic and beautiful town.  If you can, arrive on a Saturday, enjoy the market, the stall holders are great, my kids loved it, I was a little poorer and you can have lunch at one of the many restaurants in the square. It's a great base to explore the area and great alternative to a very busy Le Touquet. The town is an explorers delight, something surprising and delightful around every corner. Back to the hotel, location is great, we had great food and wine, room spotless and really hard working cleaner  thank you. Kids had so much fun playing in the square opposite, we had a great interconnecting family room, the owners couldn't do enough for us and even though I spent a little time trying to say Montreuil properly, I think I got there. Apparently a wine society used to come to the town every year it fizzled out but you can understand why they chose it. Enjoy this little known place, ignore the over-fussy pretend world travellers and enjoy this absolute gem of a hotel, restaurant and town. We love it and we will be back! 

We love this hotel and town!

a sunny afternoon stop for a glass of wine (3 EUR for a glass of sauvignon) turned into a memorable stop for pancakes and salted caramel and pistachio ice cream, with very friendly service by Madame. Great location on the market square.

We stayed here as a overnight stop between Calais and Rouen. We arrived around 7pm. The owner were very welcoming. The rooms were lovely. Perfectly turned out and warm. The owner informed us they had turned the heating up due to the weather. Thank god she did as it was -1 outside.

Montreuil is a great little market town. Definitely worth a visit if your looking for a stop heading south from Calais 

Great family run hotel

We cannot believe our good fortune finding this wonderful hotel!  We had a long tiring day of driving and sightseeing and drove into Montreuil without any hotel reservation or knowledge of the town.  It was the first hotel we saw and we stopped.

Sylvie greeted us with a warm welcome.  Our room was on the second floor facing the square.  Everything was clean and tidy, and the queen bed very comfortable.  We were still too early for dinner, so we walked around town for awhile.  Montreuil is a most charming surprise with its medieval town walls and walking paths.
    
Dinner at Le Vauban was excellent.  We each had the half crab appetizer (messy but delicious!), and thoroughly enjoyed our meals of carbonade flamande, Welsch jambon with egg, fries, crème brulee.  My dessert was a snifter of Calvados. Happy face here!
Breakfast was simply superb – a nice buffet of juices, croissants, baguettes, cheeses, ham, bread pudding, fruit, pancakes, yogurt.  Just wonderful.

WONDERFUL!!

We were connected to this hotel and stayed for 2 nights following our car getting written off in an accident. Emilie and her husband welcomed us, our 2 dogs and could not have been more helpful with several things. This included putting us on to a nearby vet and spending a considerable amount of time finding a suitable car to hire and transport to pick it up so we could continue our journey. We returned 12 days later and stayed 1 more night before friends came to pick us up.
All staff were polite and helpful, any food we had was delicious, being located in the square with a short walk to nice long walks (with a view) around the wall, it will always have a special place in our hearts.
 



Sanctuary found by accident, literally.

Stayed for 1 night in a room over looking the square. Room nice and quiet and well fitted out although bathroom was tight on space.  

Service good throughout - reception and check out.

Parking depends on time of day - spaces on square turn over quickly. Be aware that some spaces in the square have to be vacated by 6am On market day (Saturday)
