We found L'Art du Temps very easily.  Plenty of space in the car park at the entrance.  We were given a very warm welcome by David, an extremely charming, artistic and talented man.  Our room (named Club), its hallway and the bathroom were designed with flair by someone with a superb eye for interior design.  There's a lot of good furniture everywhere.  The large bed is very comfortable. Lots of light comes in from the large windows and the shower is large enough for two!  Plenty of space to put your belongings.  Good heating from those nice old 'vintage' radiators. The place is spotless.  We stayed for two nights and the towels were changed on our second day.  No need at all but a nice touch that we thought. The breakfast is a home-made extravaganza of superb fruit salad, (kiwi fruit from their garden), natural yoghurt, confiture, croissants, brioche, pain au chocolate, muesli and bread.  Good coffee.  Nice white china.  A peaceful, quiet spot within a very easy walk to the main square, the ramparts and the excellent restaurants.  We had time to visit the Saturday market before we made our way home.  David likes to be paid in cash, which is absolutely fine, but you may want to be made aware of this.  For those who smoke, there's a nice little bench outside the room, undercover, just in case it's raining.  I highly recommend this little gem - you will be well looked after.  We're looking forward to visiting again!

A little gem in a jewel of a town.

From the entrance on a slightly shabby back street you would have no idea how quiet and comfortable it was inside. The welcome from David was friendly, the room was large with an excellent shower room and separate loo. Breakfast was very good indeed, with home made pain chocolate and delicious jams. There was parking on site, unusual for Montreuil at this price and for a town centre b&b it was beautifully quiet. There is a sitting room for the use of guests with free tea and coffee available.

Comfortable and individual

Quirky little b&b in Montreuil sur Mer (although not on the sea now). Two rooms separate from the main house so very quiet and comfortable with delightful and helpful owners. This is a small town (less than 3000 apparently) but has the attraction of 16 restaurants; many of them of gourmet quality. Unfortunately we could only try a couple but well worth while coming back to explore further and indeed stay at L’Art du Temps. Loved it! Very nice owners.

Great b&b 

We were really pleased with our stay - situated behind the main cobbled streets, this place is a really good find. Wonderful, spacious rooms with excellent facilities. The owners are really helpful, and keen to make sure every need is catered for. Will stay for longer next time!

Hidden gem

What a delightful little gem of discovery this B&B is! Going down a rather seedy looking backstreet in upmarket Montreuil, we wondered where we were headed, till we found this hidden away retreat. Opening the door to our accommodation revealed a wonderful scene, with a delightfully exciting interior, modern and well furnished bathroom, and all in all a place to hide away and relax. The breakfast though was another highlight, with a choice of fresh fruit, home made breads and jams, creams, and more. Our hosts were more than welcoming, and we were made to feel very welcome indeed. .

Hide away and relax in Montreuil

Couldn't ask for more! Our hostess Elisabet was charming serving us an excellent breakfast, the room was quiet, convenient and comfortable. Off-street parking on site. Lovely walks nearby and excellent meals available within walking distance. We will certainly return to this little gem. 

A gem

The B&B is in an excellent central location, tucked down a side street near the main square with private parking on site. Our room, which was one of two rooms beside the garden entrance, was spacious, stylishly decorated, extremely comfortable and well maintained and very clean. It was cold and rainy when we arrived and David, our host, immediately turned the heating on for us and it worked well. 
Breakfast was laid out in the beautiful living area in the main house. One of the best breakfasts we had during our trip. Organic homemade croissant and brioche, good bread and jams, home made yoghurt, fresh fruit and plenty of coffee.  
The only downside is the first impression you get when you walk through the front door. The entrance is very gloomy and shabby, with worn out artificial grass. It does not reflect the very good standard of the rest of the house. Also, you have to go through this garden to get to the house for breakfast. This may be OK in hot summer weather, but it was raining when we were there and despite the porch it was a bit uncomfortable and wet! 
Having said that, David is an absolutely wonderful host and everything else was lovely.

Great place

Only two bedrooms in this hotel.
Very eco friendly and off the wall.
It is hard to describe so you need to see it if you are in the area.
The owner looked after us very well and the breakfast was pleasant.
Give it a try.

Different!

We  wanted a small hotel and my girlfriend found the l'art de temps. Not very inspiring from the outside, particularly in winter, but the room was very comfortable and of a good size, with a walk in shower.
Breakfasts were a highlight, with regional organic jams, cereals and bread.
The owner is very interested in art, and many art books and artwork on show.

Only a few minutes walk from the main square and some parking.

A few days away in a quirky B&B

This small B&B has just two rooms which are beside a small garden lying below the city ramparts. The entrance is shabby and to be honest it felt dingy and disappointing. However our room was spacious with striking decor and nice touches of interesting antique books and furnishings. Also we were provided with access to a small sitting room where coffee and tea making facilities were readily available. The smart blue and white tiled bathroom was in two sections, with large walk in shower and well equipped ante room. We had a comfortable night’s sleep. The next morning the breakfast laid out in the pretty upstairs room was a generous spread of mueslis fresh fruit salad juices brioche croissant breads and confiture. A word of warning payment is by cash only, it would have been helpful to have known this in advance, it was inconvenient for how we had planned our holiday finances.
