A lovely B and B, the owners are charming and very friendly and the food is really exceptional - you can opt for an early supper (a reasonably priced set menu including wine) which is just delicious and breakfast is full of home-cooked, local produce. The room was very clean and comfortable and it's very convenient for anyone looking for a stop-over before or after a channel crossing - it took us 2 hours to Calais and was a welcome break after a long drive up from the South of France. Merci mille fois Davey!

Lovely welcome and great food

Stayed towards the end of last year. had one of the little cottages with our small dogs which was ideal. Parking outside the room so no problems to leave your belongings in the car.  We were delayed with Eurotunnel and I rang to say we would be late.  Davy saved us a lovely home made meal which he kindly brought to our room with some lovely wine.  There was a nice breakfast next day in his dining room.  Made very welcome in a family atmosphere which was nice.  Definitely  will use again.   Very surprised to see the bad review left as we were made very welcome.  The French drink the tap water and there is nothing wrong with it, so maybe he dosn't feel the need to keep bottled water and give you added expense.

Brilliant Stay

The property was what we expected and was clean and tidy as it should be. OK it is not a 5 star hotel but we received as friendly a welcome as we could wish for and cleanliness is our main requirement, that we had. Our dog was welcome and that was the reason I selected this B&B. Will stay there again anytime, thank you.

Worth every Penny

The property is well located for the highway route up to Calais. We had a double room and shower ensuite, in what seemed to be a converted stable block adjacent to the main house. It was comfortable enough, but no more than adequate in size, for example, lacking anywhere specific to put cases. The hostess was friendly and very pleasant and the breakfast comprehensive.The price we paid was fair.However, i had three concerns which  TA travellers should be aware of. First, one would need an umbrella and coat to traverse the 30 metres or so to the main house breakfast room in rainy weather, if the outside accommodation is taken. Second, the table d'hote evening meals prominently offered on their website (apart from the glowing reports, the evening meal was the reason why we chose this place) are not available, except, it appears, at the whim of the proprietors. We were told that the business is run to suit their lifestyle. They frequently state that this is not an hotel, and this is clearly recognised,but if meals are offered, then one should be entitled to book them. We were given the option of cancelling our booking in this regard, but this was too late in our trip planning to manage.Be aware that there are very few appealing alternative evening meal.options nearby.  Third, the premises can be rather difficult to find (the house is in the middle of a village/ housing estate), especially on a dark winter night. Check-in is only scheduled from 6 pm (fine in summer, but...) and our new top marque GPS was unable to find an exact address, so we had to resort to asking sundry dog walkers until we located it Some of the approach roads to Eslettes (especially from west and south) are narrow, twisty and vertiginous, especially in the dark, so be selective and try to find  the shortest route from a major road!

Basic accommodation good, but  certainly not 5 star!

Booked this to break up journey to Jonzak. Arrived with the wife, and our Westie, around 4.30 pm. Check in was 6pm, which I thought was a bit late, but the owner said our room was ready, so we could check in. The Gite was tiny, with some original features. Knob missing off console table, same with wardrobe, a metal hook from a coathanger was in place to use as a handle! Extractor fan grill filthy, and only one tiny fan to cool the room. Continuous noise from next doors Masserator toilet, through wall. No windows to open for ventilation, only patio doors, but as small courtyard had no gate, this meant no ventilation in the room. No FRIDGE in 30 degree heat. Container full of dirty, cigarette butts from previous guests. Small table and 2 chairs outside, very flimsy and cheap, look fit for people around 8 stone, or less! Parasol stand, but no parasol. The other half of our Gite was occupied by another English couple, who let their dog run loose outside our Gite area. I was dying of thirst so I asked the owner if there was a nearby shop, which he replied no. Could I buy some bottled water then please? No sorry, we don't sell it, we drink from the tap. As a last resort, I said, have you any beers? Which he replied, I might have some, not sure if they are cold though! He found 2 small bottles of Carlsberg, and charged me 3 Euros each. We had booked the in house meal at 25 Euros each, which should have consisted of starter, main course, sweet, and coffee. Cold Starter was served at the same time as Hot main course! Gespatio was covered with thousand island dressing, Main course consisted of 3 small bits of chicken, 3 small bits of chorizo, on a skewer with ratatouille. Price was meant to include Wine for us both. Wine consisted of a one glass karaffe of red wine, an no white chilled. I don't like red wine, so I opted for 2 small beers, only to find I had been charged an additional 6 Euros! Desert was a panacotta with a coulis on top, very tasty, but served in small dish, with no spoons. Breakfast was served in the main house, with other guests, dog etc. Home made breads, cakes, yogurts available, very tasty. No napkin to cover the breads/ cakes when other guests were cutting previously! No option of any cooked foods. Coffee was served sparingly, having to chase a second cup. Although stated as Dog friendly, I think they mean Dog tolerated. Very, Very, dissapointed, goodness knows what someone arriving with young children would have done, without the option of Water, or Food options!!!!
