From the moment we arrived the welcome could not have been more genuine and friendly. Having booked a room in the chateau we were delighted to be given a guided tour of the grounds that really set us up for our 4 night stay.
We travelled to France to attend Festival Dans Les Jardins De William Christie in nearby Thire.
Marieke is a wonderful accommodation manager - Nothing was too much trouble for her. It was obvious from the outset that she intended in making our stay special, and I'm sure she does the same for everyone!
The views over the estate vineyard and out onto the sunflower fields was so relaxing. We found some great walks nearby and a fantastic restaurant in Maison Desamy in Mareuil-sur-lay-Dissais.
This was our first adventure post COVID lockdowns and couldn't have been a better start!
Highly recommend staying here as a base for touring the Pays de la Loire region

Wonderful location, fantastic people and amazing hospitality

We rented a tent behind the castle. location is just dreamy, we had loads of privacy and a breathtaking view. The tent is very luxurious, with fully equiped kitchen, massage shower and a walk in closet. Very comfortable bed with musquito net. 

The dinner evenings that were organised we so nice, meeting other people on a safe distance and enjoying the amazing food and castle grounds. 

Beautiful pool to cool off. They only have a few tents and rooms, so never too many people. We'll come back for sure!

Amazing Stay, peace, quiet and top hospitality

A beautiful Chateau, so much history comes together with the comfort of a modern home. Gite la Tour is very cosy and comfortable for a family of four or five or a group of friends. Very spacious for the 3 of us. The fireplace is a bonus in October. Try the wines as well! Location is perfect. Close to 2 villages for your groceries and less than an hour drive from beaches and La Rochelle. Île de Ré is a must as well.

History comes together with the comfort of a modern home.

Chateau Breduriere with its stylish cottages and charming safari tents set in a very natural surrounding with abundant views & peacefulness - it really is a paradise for anyone visiting the area. Breduriere has a timeless feeling where you are able to slow down, unwind, put your feet up and relax (while your children explore and play safely on the grounds). The owners Nico & Annet have one goal and that is to share their stunning property and country life with others and therefore they keep the guests to a limited number of people & families so the charm is kept and you are able to have space and privacy while in the accompaniment of others. The eye for detail fabulous with a combination of modern luxuries while living in the outdoors. Two fun evenings are organised each week with dinners outside including a pizza night when Nico fires up his outdoor oven. The area surrounding Breduriere is exciting to explore: surf beaches with sand dunes, quiet and beautiful French villages & cities, small islands, markets, gardens & wineries. A prefect little paradise in the Vendee.

Breduriere: A week in paradise

Everything was just perfect. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and the whole place is neat and as beautiful as on the photos. We especially enjoyed the French breakfast and the dinner we had twice. It is the perfect place to relax and slow down.

Great stay in a beautiful place

Stayed one night in this chateau en route north through France. It took some finding, but once there it was worth the effort. We were given a very warm welcome by Wanda, who cooked us a very good 3 course dinner (by prior request). Breakfast was simple and continental but with plenty of choice. The room was very large and had an en-suite tower bathroom with a semi-circular shower with two shower heads! Bed was large and comfortable. The chateau is set in large grounds and surrounded by a vineyard and agricultural fields. It's the perfect place to relax. We were the only people staying but this did not affect the level of hospitality extended. WiFi was an issue - it came and went in the room but was generally OK (but slow) downstairs.

Excellent stop over in wonderful location

As our first 'glamping' experience you can't get much more luxurious than the lodges at Chateau Breduriere. With fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds, a hot shower & comfy sofas the world of camping is miles away.  Great for the kids with a safe environment to cycle around, a good selection of play equipment including trampoline, football pitch & table tennis. The pool is fully enclosed, with sun all day - the kids couldn't get enough of it. With lots to do in the Vendee area you are spoilt for choice. The added touches of fantastic meals twice a week & daily fresh bread make this the perfect holiday location.

Amazing location for a family holiday

What an awesome place to find!!!
We stayed in the Suzanette suite which was a huge bedroom with ensuite in the most beautiful chateau that dates back to the 1600s! The grounds on which the chateau was built is home to a little village of old ruins and retouched building that are now private houses that can be rented.
A new vineyard also exists and will soon be making wine! There are camping grounds, huts and tents you can rent out, as well as a bunch of bikes and canoes! There are plenty of secret garden spots to have a quiet relaxation session, a picnic or a romantic private escape with a drop of wine with a dinner. It is Amazing! 
Even though the Chateau can hold a few different tenants, you hardly cross paths! 

I recommend everyone visits here at least once in your life-time!


Absolutely breathtaking!

This place is simply amazing. The surroundings are beautiful and the countryside, great weather and star gazing make this place very memorable. We stayed a week in the tented lodges they have on the grounds of the Chateau and it was lovely. Really high spec, spotlessly clean and had all we needed to enjoy our stay. The Chateau is a short drive to the nearest town which has all you will need (little supermarket, bars, restaurants, tabac etc..) but not the biggest town but La Rochelle is about 35km away and La-Roche-Sur-Yon is about 15mins in the car for something bigger. There is so much to see and do in the area we ran out of time but highlights included Green Venice, Horse Riding and Wine Tasting in some of the local vineyards. Will be recommending the place to all my friends simply for the beautiful views and the amazing hospitality show to us by Ans and Bart would run the Chateau. They could have done more to look after us and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. :)

Amazing Place to Stay

We’re just back from a couple of nights at Château Breduriere. First off, we had a lovely stay and others have written much and posted plenty of photos so I’ll try to stick to a few practical things that I haven’t seen mentioned and that might be helpful. We stayed in the Mme Beufvier room, the mid-priced room of the three chateau rooms on offer. Like all three rooms, it is on the first floor (second floor, American). No elevator; it’s an old house. It is a spacious, well-appointed room with a fireplace and window overlooking the backyard and vineyards. There are shutters you can close to reduce light and keep out bugs. Lights in the room at night will attract phototropes, of course. There is no air conditioning, which probably isn’t an issue most of the year, but could be an issue as the weather continues to warm. It has been hot in Paris, where we live, so I wrote ahead of our stay to see if an electric fan was available. Marieke graciously promised to put one in the room and she did. We were glad to have it and comfortable at night. The bathroom is nice and very clean, but small and pretty basic with nowhere to set anything in the shower and only a small shelf above the sink. There is storage under the sink with a hair dryer. A window in the bathroom faces towards the west side/entrance of the house and catches the afternoon sun. There are no shades, shutters or curtains (only half-frosted glass for privacy) so it does heat up later on a long summer’s day. The only negative about the room, for me, was the choice of thick, heavily textured pillowcases and duvet cover. The bottom sheet was nice and smooth, but the rest was almost ribbed in texture, rough against my skin and too heavy for the weather. I thought at first that the pillowcases must be pillow shams, but there were no pillowcases beneath, so that was what we slept on. Judging by the laundry drying outside, I think every room, at least in the château, had the same type bedsheets. Parking is a bit of a walk down a gravel road to the château and gîtes, so might be an issue with those having mobility issues, but you can drive closer to drop off luggage and passengers. There’s plenty to do around the château’s pretty grounds: petanque, ping pong, soccer, foosball, etc., and, of course, the pool which is saltwater and well maintained. Château Breduriere is very popular with families so there were children in the pool most of the time. The owner of Château Breduriere is Dutch as were most of the guests and the friendly manager, Marieke, who speaks excellent English. We enjoyed two good, very different meals nearby. For a upscale night out, Michelin-starred Maison Desamy provided an excellent and creative tasting menu. Book ahead. (It’s about a 6-minute drive.) On the other end of the spectrum, we ate tasty Basque food outside in a gorgeous casual location (complete with live music to celebrate the Summer Solstice) at L’Aubraie in Péault beside the River Lay and next to a bridge built by Gustave Eiffel. Marieke suggested L’Aubraie and made this reservation for us a couple hours ahead of time. (This is about a 13-minute drive.)
