This is a genuine old French chateau with all the charm that comes with it. Personal attention from the owners. Large rooms with great views. Had dinner and breakfast that were reasonably priced and excellent quality. 

Excellent experience 

Best experience ever in this small medieval village. Perfect in all points clean, nice, confortable, friendly, warm... we have take the diner with the other guest, the meal and the atmosphere where awsome. Go there you cannot be disapointed!!!

The owner accomodate us very well, we've arrive late in the evening and yet they waited for us, they are very friendly and it is a very beautiful  médiéval, it is what we expected it to be... In the morning we've tour around and this place is really beautiful.We will surely go back with kids next time.

Warm welcome

This is a very old building, and may well have been a chateau. The business now (Aug 2015) is owned by a Dutchman and his French wife. There are a lot of stairs, and the room furniture is old and tatty in places, but the whole place is the Dutchman's hobby we think, so a high degree of quirkiness is allowed. And quirky it certainly is. Everything worked, sort of. Our room overlooked the village square. DO NOT go there during their holidays period, the locals may well be playing their *** ball games in the square until very late. Nothing, it seems, can be done about that. If you have problems with stairs do not go there. We had a huge room but it was a bit grubby, and tired, and creaky. But OK for a change. 

Breakfast is downstairs in a breakfast room where various guests, locals and family may be found. French is the main language, though the Dutchman speaks excellent English (don't they all?). Not all Frenchies love us Brits greatly, as we all know, but breakfast is OK if somewhat different from the usual. An experience

No other meals are served in the hotel. There is a restaurant next door but frankly thats pretty mediocre, and the nearest decent meal we found as at Ramuzat, 10 or so miles away. (See review, Cafe du Midi).  

The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful, so a stay at the Chateau has its compensations. Romans itself is quite sweet, but nothing much happens there except that *** ball game. You can park in the square, but avoid the market area.

Well its different, I have to say! An experience.

I booked through hotels.com and canceled within the free cancellation period. The hotel immediately charged me 40% and told me it wasn't my problem that the cancellation policy on hotels.com was wrong and was not their policy. If you allow your hotel to make reservations through third party sites than you as the business owner should ensure the terms of the booking are advertised correctly. Hotel has refused to refund even when provided with the attached email.
