Le Schaeferhof is an exquisite B&B that is a vacation destination in and of itself.  We enjoyed three relaxing nights at this beautiful bed & breakfast, which involved restful sleep, pampering accommodations, delicious organic breakfasts, and generous hospitality offered by hosts, Sylvie & Gerard.  Sylvie has a fine eye for detail in every aspect of offering luxurious accommodations to her guests.  This house is one of the most beautifully decorated B&B’s, along with lush gardens,  we have ever visited and very classically French.   It is well-maintained, quiet, and very clean.    The breakfasts also are very high quality with multiple courses, delicious cheeses, expertly prepared omelets, delicious hams, homemade jams, pastries, some of the best breads, fresh juices, fruits, homemade dessert.   All organic and very fresh.   Each day Sylvie went out of her way to help us with our itineraries for the day.  She assisted us with finding wonderful dining experiences nearby, along with the best that the surrounding wine villages have to offer.   We obtained some our best sleep while here among our many stops on this European road trip (Alsace, Black Forest, Appenzell).   We always looked forward to returning to this restful spot at the end of our day.   The sauna and outdoor spa helped us to relax, and each time we utilized these amenities, we had them completely to ourselves.  The room that we stayed in was spacious, clean, quiet, and included table/sitting area for enjoying snacks and plotting our day trips for the next day.  Murbach Abbey also is nearby and offers a beautiful spot for hiking, the grounds which we explored in the morning before breakfast.   We will definitely be going back to visit again and cannot wait to return.   If you decide to stay here, you will not be disappointed.   Also, all of this is offered for a very excellent value.   The photos on their website are an accurate representation of what is offered but, as in most cases with photographs, the photos do not do this place justice.   We are adding our own photos but these also do not do this beautiful place justice.

Fairy Tale Experience in Alsace, France

This quiet place makes us feel very very relaxed after traveling around the nearby areas during the day. We rented a car and it was very nice driving in this area and knowing we will be coming back to a home like room. Very french, very elegant, but still friendly and still relaxing. We will come back.

Relaxing authentic experience in Alsace

Just came back from 5 nights in this wonderful B&B. 
First things first:
- my wife & I travelled with a little girl of only 6 months and during the stay she was treated all the time as a little princess (read: babies are def welcome here!)
- our friends (also with a 3 months old cutie) joined us for the last two nights, and our hosts, arranged the room next to us which was great

Reasons why I think this place deserves an exceptional rating:
- the passion they put in the interior and decoration, it is like you're back in the 40-50ties but with all the current luxery you need (incl awesome spa area with view on the garden and sky)
- high speed internet (still something worth to mention) 
- breakfast: all fresh fruits, bread, croissants, cheese, homemade jams, eggs the way you like it, and so many more (all bio by the way)
- rooms: see also my first point but in addition, they are really spacious with all the comfort you would expect: fresh towels everyday, hairdryer, seperate toilet, enough storage space, place to have some friends over, television, perfect sized bed, etc..
- area: so many things to see in the area, perfect location to discover the Vosges (Grand and Petit Ballon are very closeby) and also the perfect starting point for the lovely Route de Vin and the superb villages. 
- hosts: last but not least, Sylvie and Gérard are so welcoming, charming and genuine, we immediately felt at home. They also help to find the best local restaurants, the best ways to discover the regions etc

In short, you won't be dissapointed, for sure.

Superb place to stay !!!

We have just departed from a wonderful 2 night stay.
Sylvie our host is an absolutely delightful lady.
Breakfast each morning consisted of fruit, patisseries, bread, cheeses and many home made jams, all excellent.
Our room was very comfortable and very clean.
The gardens are very pretty and provide a lovely spot to sit and relax.
A beautiful old home which is well kept.
There is an outside spa which we thoroughly enjoyed to help soothe our travel weary bodies.
No mobile phone reception but good internet.
A little out of the way so a car is necessary, but the peace and quiet makes up for that.
About 15 to 20 minutes to Colmar.
There are some quiet tracks heading into the forest so a good spot for walking.
We left with a big hug from our hostess and many jars of her delicious home made jams.

 A charming place to stay!

Very friendly host taking care about the guests, nice hotel within a big garden. Only downside, that it is not really ideal for family with small kids - even so we had the apartment. Would recommend for couples.
