We popped up to valberg to get away from the heat of the coast for a night. The welcome was very warm, the rooms very comfortable and the views are second to none. Routes to walk go from all around the hotel which was perfect for our dog. The Bain nordique is equally a fab thing to do to relax. An all round lovely place to stay. 

Fresh night in a heatwave

My wife and I spent one night at La Vallée Blanche in March 2017. It was a pleasant stay. The hotel - with only 10 rooms - is very conveniently located next to the ski area in a traditional mountain house. Our room, relatively small, had been renovated but not fully modernised with quite a few old features (bathroom door, door handles, ....). Facing the mountain the balcony is certainly a great place to stay in summer. In reality, the main downside of the hotel is the absence of communication between the room area and the restaurant / bar area. In other words, every time we wanted to go to the restaurant / bar we had to go out of the hotel building and take - slippery - stairs outside. Not really convenient. We had dinner at the hotel. Food was really good. I ordered a "Parmentier de canard avec foie gras chaud", a duck preparation, which was really excellent as were desserts. As the outdoor nordic / steam bath is only accessible with reservation unfortunately we could not test it. Friendly, smiling and professional service. Overall we had a very nice stay at La Vallée Blanche and I do not hesitate to recommend the place for a stay in Valberg. 

Comfortable mountain hotel with good restaurant 

Decent enough hotel for a 2* property and good location directly on the slopes and by the chair lift.  We arrived at 10.00pm on Monday 18th February 2019 for our family holiday.  I'd booked a triple room and a double room in advance, August 2018, but on arrival was only set up as two doubles.  The owners had gone to bed and wouldn't come and sort it out.  Oh actually a guy did come and see what the problem was but he was absolutely stoned and could barely speak then walked off.  My husband slept on a pull out chair with just a throw and cushion to sleep on.  In the morning one of the staff made up the pull out chair with bedding so my husband had to sleep on that all week.
We'd paid in advance for a triple but when we checked out at the end of the week the owner charged us for an extra person in the room.
Booking.com were pretty useless and the owner wouldn't speak to them and she didn't speak to us either.  In the end we had to claim the extra fee back from Booking.com.  
To say that we put up with being shoe horned into a double room for the week without making a fuss, we were pretty poorly treated.  
I wouldn't recommend staying here!
